there was a shooting in the parking lot of the sun valley mall in concord. we have the latest developments from overnight. this is a terrible situation. i hope the families can recover and get some semblance of peace. under the california pilot was good when her plane clashed into the marin headlands. researchers are projecting an energy shortfall. the warriors got a big win in front of their home crowd, stopping the grizzlies in game three of the playoff series. good morning. happy mother's day. thank you for joining us. i'm devin fehely.

let's start with a quick check of the weather. today promises to be blustery, windy, and wet. shower spreading south. shower threat begins this morning, mid-morning. a few showers in the north bay. showers begin to fall apart as they head south, but there is a chance for everybody later in the bay. north bay showers will spread south. will clouds and windy. numbers come down about 10 degrees then yesterday. it remains unsettled through tuesday. i will have more details in a few minutes. in a developing story, police investigate a shooting in concorde. it happened of the sun valley mall in the parking law. the mall had already shut down. the manager said they didn't hear the shooting, but more security told them not to let any additional customers in until it was clear.

multiple cars could be seen with bullet holes and dozens of shell cases were found around the parking lot. police say no one was injured and they have not made any arrests. we are learning about the victims and the deadly plane crash in the marin headlands. family members confirm that those died were a man and a woman. kpix 5 da lin is more on the victims and investigation. >> reporter: the plane is at the crash scene. investigator spent hours on saturday and friday documenting the evidence. authorities plan to remove the wreckage by sunday afternoon. a stunning site right above a popular scenic lookout point. instead of snapping photos of the iconic photo golden gate bridge, many focused cameras on the wreckage. >> it is a gruesome scene. it is welded is right here. >> is crazy to see something like that. >> reporter: the single wing explain appear to nosedive.

authorities say the impact killed the pilot and passenger. family members identified the passenger as jennifer fox of sacramento. she went by jj she was a life coast and beauty expert. her family says this is a catastrophic loss, especially on this mother's day weekend for her son and daughter, both in high school. the family released a statement saying jj was pure love and light and goodness. this is an enormous loss to our family and entire close knit community. the pilot's family tells me they are devastated as well. they will release his name on monday. the sacramento man was a loving father and confident pilot. they were close friends. >> my heart goes out to the family and friends of the people in the aircraft. we get into this because we love aviation. aviation is incredibly safe. >> reporter: like to wish of

the experimental aircraft took off from sacramento. the plane made a few loops about the bay before crashing it off: 09 p.m. people who visit the marin headlands around the crash scene it was very foggy. >> very low visibility. >> reporter: the national transportation safety board is looking at weather conditions and other factors as they try to pinpoint what caused the crash. >> i would encourage any witnesses to report any information they may have that could be of use to the investigation. >> reporter: ntsb said they will release a report within 15 business days. the final report will be done within one year. last night, the warriors fans cheered the warriors to a lopsided victory over the visiting grizzlies. the warriors trailed early. they were down by as much as 13 then they got rolling. steph curry led golden state

tuesday as the low sinks out. today looks like it will be wet in the north bay, maybe a 0.1 of an inch and a chance of showers spreads out later in the day. futurecast bears all of this out. by noon today, the showers will be south to about san jose and south bay after being forecast to move through the north bay. there is not much here and it may not make it to the south were east bay. things cloud up. showers more likely in the north bay. by 4:45, more showers over the north bay, scattered showers. maybe get a sprinkle. then it clears up but then on monday we get variable clouds all of monday. monday is pretty much dry. tuesday, it might be more on the way. rainfall totals, for today, the forecast is for 800 since key santa rosa. maybe it holds together well enough so that by noon today or later timing is difficult, 507

it will be unsettled for the rest of the day. variable clouds and cooler than usual. numbers 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. it remains unsettled through about tuesday. more details in a few minutes. covid cases are spiking in san francisco. the county has the second highest infection rate in california. according to new state data, san francisco is seeing an average of 40 per 100,000 residents. the case rates have nearly tripled since late march and the positivity rate is hovering at 3.9%. despite the so-called sixth wave, many say they are used to it. kpix 5 explains. >> reporter: is covid cases rise, it's a busy weekend across the bay area, full of big and small gatherings. >> i feel pretty comfortable. i am going to watch a couple of innings of the giants and i will walk over to chase to watch the warriors. >> reporter: while the rise in cases is disconcerting. >> it doesn't concern me as much. >> reporter: he and others are

only 30 have been pulled out alive. earlier, ukrainian officials say they have evacuated all of the women, children, and older adults who were trapped in the steel mill in mariupol. thousands of civilians were holed up for weeks amid a russian assault. president zelenskyy says 300 people were saved from the plant. the next step he says is to provide safe corridors for civilians trapped in other parts of the city. russia rocked the port city of odessa. this shows the aftermath of one of the strengths. it's not clear if anyone is hurt or cleared killed in the bombarded. ukraine armed forces released a video of drone attacks against russian forces near sydney gallon. the video appears to show an area strike and atlantic ship as well as drone strikes on buildings. they are meant to stave off russia's efforts to control the black sea. first lady jill biden visited a refugee center. she's in the third leg of a 40 day trip to romania and slovakia.

she spent saturday in slovakia. she will continue meeting with aid workers and refugees to show support. in the bay area, some activists said the best way to stop the war is by not giving ukrainians the help they are asking for. john ramos has their story. >> reporter: ever since invasion began, ukraine has been begging the world for the materials it needs to defend itself. today, across the bay area, antiwar activists appealed for peace. in a way different than the ukrainians had in mind. this morning, the antiwar group code pink join members of the democratic socialists of america for a joint rally outside a grand lake theater in oakland, calling for an end to the war in ukraine. >> as it drags on, there's more of a danger of it escalating, even to the point of nuclear war. this is something we need to take seriously. it could be the beginning of how the world ends. >> reporter: protesters are not appealing to the u.s. to help ukrainians. it's the opposite.
