are expected to see a big crowd. life way 1 and 92 will e bumper to bumper. >> reporter: people ready to beat the heat by more than they thought. i checked in with paul about this. there will be a bie discrepancy between here and soe and some of the hottest parts of the bay area on labor day. some of those hot spots will be around 110 degrees. the high here in half-moon bay looking like somewhere in the 70s. if you coming out here, you might want to bring a jacket. back to you. >> the current heat wave coincides with plans to clear san jose's largest homeless encampment. the rising temperas rising temperatures are now a concern for a number of homeless people and the crews g and the crews doing that work. >> reporter: while these city crews continue their work of clearing out debris during the heat of the day, the city is pausing new camp clean ups whet

things but they should be fired. >> reporter: he has been sleeping on some salvaged car seats. he just got into a cityn a city run tiny home community. >> it is not really home. it is more a cell they give you key to. >> reporter: he said the transition will be a struggle.r struggle. other camp residents are trying to sneak out a few more weeks by moving their rvs into a more organized camp neae near some ball fields. >> we have to pull them, push t. hi people come help push them sy don't lose their house. >> reporter: she said it is only a matter of time before they get moved out, too. the city hs city has housed 143 people from the camps since last october and is working to find and gain trust of others to move them into temporary or long term housing. back to you. > >> hundreds of thousands of people are expected to pass through bay area airports over the next three days. the majority of those here in sfl.y are expecting some 500,000 passs to come in and out of this

weekend. that is a 79% increase in travel numbers. everyone we spoke to seemed prepared for big crowds and are rolling with it. >> we did expect some busy lines for sure. >> it is not long but it is getting long! similar scenes are likely at other bay area airports. oakland international expects to see around a quarter of a million people pass throu. > >> happening today, nasa's man rocket has sprung another fuel leak. the problem developed around the bottom of the rocket just as fuelling began at daybk began at daybreak there florida. >> reporter: good to see you. nasa said they are continuing o continuing to look for work around to try to get through this leak if you will. we should mention it isn't the same leak issue that nasa saw earlier this week that delayed that launch and scrubbed said .

back. the time is now 6:17. san francisco has launched it's urban heat watch initiative to address -- community leaders and volunteers met on freud install new sensor on a car. tt on a car. that car will be drich there with city's different microclimates. the goal is to collect data such as temperatue as temperature and humidity. the researchers are trying to unded to understand how sheet distributed across the city. >> as the car drives 35 miles an hour, about it is cycling air through. a sensor is catching temperature, humidity and stuff like that. you can put into ita into it a mod that he will can look across that polygon and as polygon and across that space. t space. what is the difference in in variation of temperature? >> many of san francisco's most vulnerable communities are hit the hardest during heat waves.e heat waves. the data gathered from that sensor will be used to inform the city's response
