appointed to review doumits selast month. bradley blackburn is there with more. hi, bradley. >> hi, matt. this is something the team has been looking for even though they say they've gone through all the documents seized at mar-a-lago. it could throw a wrench into the ongoing investigation and keep some sensitive information from ever being made public. u.s. district judge aileen cannon has allowed an outside special master to look at the seized documents from former president trump's mar-a-lago estate. >> probably what they'll be talking about is a retired master judge. >> reporter: in the 24-page ruling judge cannon wrote that trump faces unwant finally potential harm if more sensitive information is made public and

says he should be granted an outside lawyer ruling on the evidence. the ruling blocks them from using the documents in the investigation until after the so-called special master is done. >> the shameful raid and break-in of my home in mar-a-lago was a travesty of justice. >> stumping over the holiday in pennsylvania for november midterm candidates, trump continues to claim the search was part of the justice department. >> it's clear which way the maga republicans are. they're extreme. monday president visited pennsylvania, a crucial swing state, for the third time in less than a week where he again warned trump and many of his supporters are a threat to american democracy. and that federal judge set a september 9th deadline for special master candidates. in a statement, the doj said that it is now examining the judge's opinion about a special master and continuing appropriate next flames.

several people who were trapped had to be rescued. a historic heatwave that's been fueled, people in the state are again being urged to reduce their energy use. thousands flocked to beaches as temperatures hit triple beaches for the sixth straight day. it could reach, get this, 125 degrees in death valley. electricity use could hit record levels. the power grid is close to reaching maximum demand and officials are warning of

potential rolling blackouts. >> as we roll into the hottest days of the heatwave, we ask that you continue to respond with caused one building to collapse. there were no reports of injuries. also breaking overnight, police in memphis say a body has been found in the area where missing teacher eliza fletcher was abducted last week. the identity and cause of death have not yet been confirmed. fletcher disappeared friday.

video surveillance shows a 34-year-old forced her into his surf while she was jogging saturday. the suspect has been charged with kidnapping and tampering with evidence. there are new details about the mass stabbing attack that left ten people dead and 19 hurlt in canada. one of the suspects is now dead. his brother is still on the run. we have the details. >> reporter: one of the two murder suspects wanted in one of the deadliest killings in canada's history has been found dead. damien sanderson was found dead. >> his body was found outdoors in a heavily grass area in proximity to a house being examined. >> reporter: his brother myles is still at large. >> myles sanderson, damien's brother, may have sustained injuries. even if he was injured, it does not mean he is still not

the coast guard has suspended its search for nine people missing after a small plane crashed in peugeot sount northwest of seattle. the seaplane had ten people on board including a child when it went down sunday. the body of a female was recovered. the identities of the victims are expected to be released some time today. the cause of the crash is under investigation. coast guard searchers have only found minimal debris. rafael nadal's winning streak has come to a shocking end. and the water crisis in jackson, mississippi. "the clarion-ledger" says the boil water notice could end soon. people lost reliable access to running water after flooding damaged a water treatment plant more than a week ago.

is looking to reach customers at home. it's buying home health providers signify. the deal is worth $8 billion. signify is worth more than 10,000 employees including physicians and nurses. the deal means cvs are also own caravan health which signify agreed to buy earlier this year. they work with care organizations which are hospitals, doctors, and other providers who serve medicare patients. and fast food wages can rise to 22 bucks an hour. it will determine standards for pay, hours, and working conditions for fast food workers. they can raise the minimum wage next year versus $15.50 for the rest of the state. the restaurant industry is none too happy. they say they would raise costs

that would pass on costs to consumers as goods rise. every year billions of dollars are spent on gift cards, bua new studsh lot of that money goes to waste. >> gift cards are an easy and popular present. >> i have teenaged granddaughter and i don't like to shop. so, therefore, i use the gift cards. >> people like giving them and receiving them but often don't use all the money. a new survey from bankrate finds close to half of the u.s. adults have unused gift cards, vouchers, or store credits. >> sometimes i can't find it. >> when it gets real low and i can't buy anything, i throw it away. >> i have $2. >> reporter: typically much more money is left behind. the average american is sitting on $175. that's up from $116 last year. >> they represent real money. >> reporter: bankrate's tedrosman says in many cases the
