it happened. then jets, planes, and ships headed to the bay area, we've got you covered on the kickoff to fleet week. then the babe versus la, live at levi levi stadium, the 49ers get ready to take on the rams, i'm read callan, so, let's start with the party shooting in berkeley, where students are remembering two of their classmates who were lost over the weekend to gun violence. let's bring in and maka make, what we know about these young ? young men? >> they were brothers who went to berkeley high school and they they were at a birthday party in in north oakland when at least two people walked in and opened fire. here are the pictures, the the taller one, 17-year-old jesse sotelo garcia, a junior, the one in the right, a sophomore, two other people were were hurt, also students at berkeley high school. >> there are so many impacted by by this loss, these are someone's babies, these were the the friends of classmates, the students and colleagues of many. many. so i wanted to say that we we are grieving collectively.

>> >> the counselors were available available at multiple school sites across berkeley to help students process the tragedy. while the community grieves, the the investigation into exactly what happened saturday night continues. minutes ago oakland police said they do not believe the shooting was gang-related, but it could be tied to a fight that happened earlier at school. school. >> we know the individuals responsible for this can't enter enter the house and begin to sh, to shoot, specific people within within the house, they knew exactly the individuals that they were seeking to shoot. >> the police chief there so they are looking for 3 suspects and airbnb confirmed that this d this happened, in a statement they said the party was unauthorized, and the person who who booked it has been removed from their site. >> thank you so much, back in 2019, five people were killed at at a party and airbnb rental,

we also have our eye on puerto rico and the widespread damage from hurricane fiona. two weeks ago the category one storm left 3.2 million people in the dark and caused massive flooding. today, president joe biden visited the area and is promising more than $60 million of help to fix levees and flood walls, and he promises investments in roads, bridges, and of course the power grid that's been widely criticized. he says he wants to make sure it's built to last well people fire up their generators at the water's edge. thousands of people are still today without electricity, or to clean drinking water. >> is a sound we know all too well in the bay area, gives you a of pride. pride in our oummeet ek official kiofday, s d massive ships all making their y their way into the waters of

alive as she runs her family business. >> a guy decided he wanted to open up a restaurant, which was his and my mom's dream. >> reporter: this is a restaurant on 24th street in san san francisco's mission district. >> our customers come in and i try to treat everyone like family, they see it. >> reporter: her for her parents parents are from mexico, they moved to the bay area in the late 60s and have called the mission district home ever since. and it's truly a family run business. >> basically it's myself, my husband, my dad, and my mom. >> reporter: with multiple generations chipping in, to prepare the restaurant each day to welcome customers. like many small businesses trying to stay afloat isn't always easy. in the the pandemic made it more difficult to keep the doors open. >> especially during covid, i saw that my mother and father invested their savings into this this place, and i told my husband, i can't let everything go down in flames. i said i have

have to do something to make it work. >> reporter: elizabeth had to get resourceful. and applied for for help through the california restaurant foundation resilience resilience fund. >> i didn't know, i saw it come up on a few things, but i didn't didn't know exactly where i had to go or what i had to do, and one of their zoom trainings all the information was on their. which was great. >> that was at no cost to you? >> reporter: this led to $3000 grant and year-round support services funded by wells fargo. >> when we are happy to see them them thriving, being a part of the neighborhood which is a very very lively, colorful neighborhood in san francisco. >> reporter: the opportunity making the biggest difference to to this mom of two. >> it works out good for us. >> reporter: she spent the last few years learning how to use social media to row her business business and connect with the community. >> everyone showed us love. they they came and thanks to all of our customers, our family, our community, we were able to stay
