the city. and betty yu has that story. >> reporter: this is the second fleet week for peruvian rotisserie here in the marina. t brought in extra staff to handle handle the big crowds this weekend. the dining room was buzzing with chatter and reservations. it was buzzing with more business this fleet week. >> this year, looks like we are fully out of covid. and we are fully open and you can see it is is much busier this year. a lot of walk ins. a lot of people watching the show. and they come come in here to have an amazing meal. >> reporter: marina resident elizabeth davis and her friendse on the roof. >> we were having some drinks and having a great time. we couldn't see the planes but it s

a great time. >> reporter: san francisco's famous fog obscured some of the city's famous landmarks throughout the day. but that didn't stop thousands of locals and visitors from taking in the sights around town. during the annual fall tradition. for haranita, it's a noticeably busier saturday. a sign that things are trending in the right right direction since the height the height of the pandemic. >> this was one of the busiest months since we opened. we have a lot of private events. >> reporter: two blocks away, they said the wait during peak dinner times was an hour. >> the reservations have been high. but normal for a friday saturday night. the walk ins and and the people walking into the bar that is a little more than . which is great. >> reporter: this is the first fleet week for maybecks which opened under new ownership and a a new california inspired menu after a two-and-a-half year pandemic related closure. >> it is fantastic. good to have have it back. good to see so may

conveyer belt of clouds. just so so happens for fleet week that is where the show happens. this is tomorrow, 2:30 in the afternoon. we are using the high high resolution forecast because because the does a pretty good job of depicting what the marine marine layer will look like. we have gotten a lot better with the high resolution forecast. bg able to visualize what it will look like. it is not perfect. it perfect. it doesn't mean it absolutely goes this way. but, here's the best information we have. we are doing the same thing all over again tomorrow. e is your marine layer. right in the same place. this is where the planes want to go. and, we'll probably have a similar kind of setup. keep your fingers fingers crossed if you want a better view. but use today as your example. we know where to position yourself, you don't want to be on the waterfront. ge yourself a little bit of distance and height. these clouds are not terribly high. so high. so just get a little higher. find a building or a hill. you'll see the show. i'lle you with the rest of the forecast coming up in a bit. bak

to you. >> thank you. > >> more news. oakland fire released this video showing a vehicle and brush fire. they responded to near 580 and high . caused some lanes of 580 to be closed for a while. no word on how it began or how big it got before they got it under control. people coming together for a local bar crawl to raise money for the victims of two fires that displaced dozens back back in august on divisidero street. 35 businesses had a fundraiser donating raffle prices and drink specials and yoga classes. >> i hope it makes an impact. i believe that we all need to come to come together in times of strife and trouble. so i hope the community feels the fruit of of our effort. and that it is wl received. >> more than 20 people and three three local bids were displaced by that fire in august. >> they lost their homes. all

their stuff. their well being. s horrible. these people need backup. they need to feel like the neighborhood cares about thm and we do. >> a mixed use building went upn flames on august 31st. the fire displaced 12 people. along with a local business. and then, a week before that, 13 people and two businesses were displaced. > >> other news tonight, one man is dead after a shooting off the the uc berkeley campus. three others injured. investigators say it began with a fight in the the early morning hours. this happened at telegraph and durant durant avenue. none of the victims were students but many of them saw what happened. they said a man pulled out a gun and started shooting. >> i don't know what the altercation was about. but there there was definitely a fight between a group of people. defiy not students. older people. >> i was paralyzed. i didn't know what was going on until

mateo, and contra costa last year. the last tsunami caused de of around 100 million damage to ports and harbors across the state after the earthquake in japan. it has been five years since the 2017 wine country fires. 40 people lost their lives and 6,000 homes went up in in flames across napa, sonoma, and mendocino counties. and after those fires, state legislators passed several reforms to help california prepare for future fires based on lessons learned. that includes a statewide protocol for emergency alerts. another law required new electric garage garage doors to have backup batteries. after residents had trouble opening their doors during power outages. another established a wild fire warning center. that uses a network of weather stations and defection cameras. laws targeted pg&e which was found responsible for sparking the 2017 fires and other major fires since. it includes a law requiring the

sonoma. we could potentially do that again tomorrow. so, if you are an early morning riser, if you are in the north bay, think about giving yourself extra time time in case you hit some fog. f you are in the immediate bay, we we had fog like that around san mateo bridge and hayward reporting visibility down to three tenths of a mile. so plan for that tomorrow morning. but then once we get to the late morning and early afternoon, the the clouds melt back. it's just the beach. and of course, fleet week. where we will have an issue with the low clouds. but everybody else will have sunshine. another beautiful daye are in the mid 50s for the most most part now. livermore and cod in the low 60s . the morning lows tomorrow are not that far off from right now. mid 50s to start the day. daytime highs tomorrow are going to be in the mid to upper 80s so, it is a little cooler tomorrow than it was today if you are inland. you inland. you may not notice, but this is my job to tell you the difference. 78, san jose. 81 santa rosa. and the numbers

along the bay shore, the mid 70s 70s . you don't get out of the 60s all day in the 6 0z. you sd be in the 70s this time of year, but not with the marine layer. meanwhile, there has been been such a fascinating pattern when you look at the lllast sol that look familiar? that pattern pattern hasn't changed. that's a a weak little storm system sitting out there spinning its wheels and it can't come our way way because there is a big block block in the atmosphere now. ths is all tied together. the marine marine layer. no offshore wind events. that storm being in this this weird holding pattern. thee has been a center of high pressure over us much of the last week. that's been responsible for all of this. it will start to break down. as we get toward the second half of next week. and you'll see the implications for that in the seven day forecaster. for one thing t it will look and feel more like october in the city. , by the second half of next week, week, we are going to lose the marine layer. it will be like this through monday and tuesday, tuesday, but by the second half
