war. astrid matter martinez has more. >> good morning. these are some of the more severe missile strikes. the civilian death toll is rising along with global anger. president biden and other g7 leaders will hold an emergency virtual meeting this morning to discuss support for ukraine and ways to hold russian president vladimir putin accountable. it comes one day after more than 80 russian mill misaisles rained down on more than a dozen regions in ukraine. ukrainian officials say more than ten infrastructure targets were hit, leaving many without power, water, and heat. >> the entire world has once again seen the true face of the terroristic people who have killed our people. >> reporter: putin has claimed strikes were in retaliation for the destruction of a bridge that

uvalde, texas, where a gunman killed 19 students and two teachers in may has announced his plans to retire. uvalde superintendent hal harrell's announcement of retirement comes a week after the district suspended the entire school police force. and there was the hiring and firing of a state trooper after it was revealed she was on the campus on the day of the shooting as a state trooper. she's also under investigation over her response to the shooting. and the council in l.a. is under fire as the president made a racist comment. martinez faces a crisis of her own making, her political career in tatters. the first latina chosen to lead the l.a. city council caught on tape making insulting racist remarks last year. on tape obtained by the "l.a.

a dramatic rescue off the coast of louisiana as missing boaters fought off sharks in the gulf of mexico. the coast guard says it launched the search saturday after three people on a fishing trip disappeared when their boat sank. more than 24 hours later, they were discovered wearing lifejackets in the water and fighting off sharks. two of them had shark bites on their hands. all three had hypothermia and were reported in stable condition. the world is remembering a pioneer de-jerick and the army is cracking down on a mold problem. those are some of the headlines on the mor is reporting the army issued an order to inspect all its buildings. the outbreaks at fort bragg, fort stewart have left barracks uninhabitable and forced soldiers into temporary housing. the order requires all soldiers
