>> after a rash of violence near near campus, students and parents are speaking up that they are sick of it. what uc berkeley is trying to do to keep keep students safe. good afternoon, i'm reed cowan. to that fire at the senior living complex. anne makovec is with me me with more details. >> most of the seniors were sleeping when that fire broke out in it spread very quickly this morning. firefighters got a a call at about a quarter till 6:00 a.m. on santa clara avenue. avenue. heavy smoke and flames had spread throughout the fifth floor. firefighters had to rescue 85 people including nine people from their balconies. three seniors were taken to the hospital because they had inhaled a lot of smoke. they will be okay. one fire fire ended up with injuries as well. >> the occupant stated she noticed a power strip that was sparking, it caught a blanket on

along the coast, but not much more than a trace amount of moisture. cooler temperatures and even for and parts of the bay area, everyone on the island island about average, but with the cloud cover is going to actually feel nice, like autumn. we will have a bit of a temperature roller coaster despite high clouds in the atmosphere. as we look east at the salesforce tower fog has retreated to the coast. a little little is on the horizon that we'll talk about that in a seco. a second. 60 in san francisco to to 80 in livermore. most temperatures around the bacon in in the 60s, further inland, mostly 70s, but a few spots have have cracked 80 this afternoon for which is about what we expected. their quality isn't dreadful. despite that haze on the horizon it's not as good as it was yesterday, but into the modern category for st bay d ara valley, ee should eathatout quity along with quite a bit of fog to start the day on saturday. visibility so to improve but gradually got fog will retreat to the coast and by by early afternoon i think we

will see anti-of sunshine around around downtown san francisco. chilly conditions prevail. tonight, performers are 40s in e in the higher valley. we will be be 4-8 degrees lower than normal, even inland spots are topping out in the 70s to mid 7. mid 70s. it is going to be brisk. mid to upper 60s to around 70 down the middle and south end of the bay. going inland, mostly in the low to mid mid 70s. temperatures inland and and east bay also mostly 70s, the warmest spots in the upper 70s, that's it. that's as far as as we are going to go, and it's going to be cool in the city, 60 , and upper 60s with the fog hanging on longer for inland parts of the north bay. north of of the golden gate you have to go way north to find warmer temperatures. if you are not ready for the autumn feel in the atmosphere, go to clearlake or ukiah, upper 80s. long-term
