tracked down suspected serial killer in stockton, plus this. >> in oakland's rockridge district where players are not only encouraging but demanding that more housing be built in their backyard. we will have that story coming up. > >> elizabeth holmes back in court before a judge hoping for a new trial, what a star witness witness told the judge in his second time on the stand. so, you see the guy here, police in stockton and the rest of the men men that they believe killed five people in the city over the the course of about three months. it was a killing spree that began in oakland last year, year, michelle medina explains how authorities tracked down there suspect. >> reporter: stockton police say say the man in the surveillance video is 43-year-old wesley brownlee, now behind bars. he was arrested over the weekend wearing black with a mask around around his neck, carrying a gun. gun. >> our surveillance team follow this person while he was driving. we watched this pattern pattern and determined he was on on a mission to kill.

>> reporter: police say brownlee brownlee ambushed and killed five men in stockton between early july and late september. all but one were hispanic and some were homeless. the first victim was 35-year-old paul yola, his mother spoke to cbs news about her son's death earlier this month. >> i'll never get to see my son again. >> reporter: police say they were able to track down brownlee brownlee in large part thanks to to hundreds of tips from residents. renc this facebook group to help police. >> our administrative team has worked so hard with the community to try to uncover every stone, and try to identify identify who this person was who's been terrorizing our community. >> reporter: stockton locals are are grateful for the work of law law enforcement. >> this shows the diligence of our police force, and this commitment they have to the community. >> reporter: the suspect is being held in county jail without bail and is expected to see the arraigned tuesday on

murder charges. michelle medina, medina, cbs news, los angeles. > >> police have busted two illegal casinos operated out of homes in san jose. these people were arrested in the two underground casinos, police say two of the people were running the operation, five of them had outstanding warrants during their investigation police say they seized drugs and guns. >> there was drug use occurring, occurring, one of them had a firearm on them, the stabbing incident as well, this isn't a group of individuals getting together for good activity. >> these case files will be about that thick because police say they found a cocaine laboratory, and that the operations were being run out of of homes near north capitol avenue and avenue b in san jose. jose. > >> former there are no sounder elizabeth holmes was back in fort in san jose hoping for a new trial. the judge was questioning a key witness from her trial about his previous testimony. here's the
