elective surgeries to make sure they can care for their most at risk patients. if you need a more tangible sign that viral illnesses are exploding, look no further than the pharmacy. our photojournalist brian nguyen found the cough drop section almost cleared out, empty , at his local store. let's get back to me travel respite those that are flying tonight or finding the need to go back to their pandemic ways to protect himself and their families. andra spoke with travelers at the oakland airport. >> reporter: you're at oakland international airport, roughly 170,000 people are expected to travel through here between today and sunday. that is a and perchance increase from last year. there is quite a crowd out here at the southwest terminal. with more people traveling, some are being extra careful about the way they travel. it >> it is a little bit crowded.

carrying thousands of dollars of equipment was stolen from the hotel where the teams are staying there this police video shows the u-haul pulling into a neighborhood in santa ana early sunday. the gear is unique to these paralympic ice sled hockey players. >> come on. what are you going to do with it? i don't know. it is frustrating. like him obviously it is a crime of opportunity. and i know what they were going to get there they saw the u-haul truck and they wanted to make a quick buck off whatever is in there. it is not something that anyone else is going to use other than us. what are you going to do with it? they had a tracking device which led them to a home in santa ana where some of the equipment was found. but, 13 bags and all of the special ey missing. for all of these players, it is about more than the gear. >> the storm is a family. it
