police are investigating a stabbing . good afternoon, i am reed cowan. >>ramesh un ing sed in the focus theranos blood testing technology which duped millions of dollars from many. he was also romantically involved with holmes until 2016. she accused him of abuse, which he denies . ramesh "sunny" balwani was convicted on all 12 felony counts convicted to the theranos fraud and conspiracy. >> we respectfully disagree with the result in the case.

we plan to appeal. and keep on fighting for our clients. >> ramesh "sunny" balwani was convicted of all 12 accounts, holmes was acquitted on several charges. holmes was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison. her term is set to start next year. she is also appealing as you just heard ramesh "sunny" balwani's attorney talking about , again, sentenced to three years and given the chance to say a few words, which he denied. anpo at the school . police responded just after 11:30, today. the victim rushed to the hospital with a stab wound. so far we don't know what

the moisture to the northwest it will be close enough to send another good chance of showers into the bay area, thursday afternoon and evening. let's track those hour by hour rain chances. we'll start with santa rosa, around the onset of those rain showerwe e that earliethan everybody else .a good chance by early afternoon with the best chance of rain right around rush-hour. so it looks like we will be contending with wet roads for the evening commute on thursday across most of the bay area , including around san francisco and oakland. it's a good chance of those showers being in place around the peak of rush hour. look at how this chances diminish falling apart by about 10:00 in the evening.san jose will have to wait longer. you will still be dry, but we'll see that rain chance moving in as we head through the evening and into the first part of the overnight, but much better chance of widespread heavy rain is in the forecast, this weekend. we'll track that in just a few minutes. many bay area families

face hunger this holiday season. and when it comes to feeding those needs it is not one-size-fits-all. more, within the muslim community. >> it makes a team to make this happen. volunteers show up, rain or shine, to bring groceries to hundreds of families. after this is abdullah with muslim community. every bag contains items like rice, beans, pasta, fruits and vegetables , groceries for people who need them, throughout the bay. >> i think it is part of our faith service, just helping those in need, and that is the whole purpose of the muslim community center, is to help the community, and serve those who are struggling. expect their first set of deliveries were for 16 families during the pandemic. someone they added diapers for families who need them. a couple of hours after

the sister loads up the van, volunteers show up, packing more backs and cars. while most of those they serve are within the muslim community to help anyone who needs it. >> the food is going to primarily the elderly, who cannot get out and about easily. it's going to single mothers, who, a lot of them don't have transportation. we are helping the afghan refugees. >> volunteers drive to a central location. >> we bring progress and dry food from pleasanton to oakland, where we will be bringing it to a central location , and we have a partnership with doordash. so they will send doordash to that site and hand it off to them. two there is misconception that the bay area is wealthy. while there are areas of wealth, many struggle for daily needs.

of the energy will miss this to the north, but it will be close enough to send another round of her into the bay area late tomorrow and into tomorrow evening.future crest, the increasing clouds tonight, first half of the day tomorrow, but the first half of tomorrow will be dry, even far north in the north bay . first showers won't arrive until the afternoon. rain chances increase, and by the time we hit late afternoon right around the beginning of the peak of rush hour, we will see a widespread shower across the bay area. heaviest rain will fall north of the golden gate, but we will see showers across the rest of the bay area through the evening. that activity doesn't last too long, this will be a quick hitter in terms of how long it lasts by tomorrow midnight or so, you should see the last of the show was winding down. a dry break on friday, but the next storm system is getting its act together. it is trying to send showers in the north bay, i don't know if that's likely, but friday evening, friday

night, chances will be increasing, and the real bulk of the moisture associated with a full fledged atmospheric river will head our way on saturday., trained to expect out of this first system? not a whole lot, ranging from a few ndinch to maybe a half inch of rain, especially in higher divisions of the north bay where the rain arrives earlier, and it's a little more intense. further south this will be very light, so you may ask, why are we making a big deal out of this? it's not the rain, it's the timing around it. after the evening rush, the winds will be gusty in that timeframe as well, they will pick up pick up throughout the day. around 25 miles an hour, closer to 40 miles an hour along the coast, but like the rain, the gusty winds don't last too long, already relaxing into the evening. in the higher elevations, above 3500 feet, about 6-12 inches of snow, prompting a winter advisory through 4:00 on friday morning . but we are not done just yet, even better chance of more

widespread and heavy rain is in the forecast by friday night, especially saturday into saturday night with lingering showers, sunday into monday. this one is going to be the atmospheric river, but on the low end of the scale, bringing beneficial impacts to the bay area. and a lot of snow with a winter storm watch in effect for the high sierra, anywhere from 6 inches to 5 feet of snow, as you go up in elevation. quick look at temperatures, mostly 50s to 60 in san jose. tonight, chilly, a mix of 30s and 40s, and highs tomorrow, increasing clouds overhead, not very warm, about 4 to 5 degrees below normal. there is our next alert day, on saturday, things don't change much. sunday , slightly better day for trying to do something outside , be flexible with your outdoor plans. reed?

one bay area fire department is helping families in need for christmas. they hosted their annual toy drive. through the end of the year they are making sure communities have a they need on christmas morning. >> it gives our members a chance to meet the public and hear their stories of why they like to donate to the fire department. all kinds of interesting stories come in, and it gives us a chance to take these donations to our local nonprofits to make sure these get out to our local areas. >> drop off new, unwrapped toys , gift cards, or donate online. i am woefully inefficient at getting my christmas shopping done. >> i think we are mostly done. there are things you realize you haven't gotten yet, and we are like, we have to take care of that here it >> when holiday cards start to show up, i am like geez, we
