[ laughter
3:18 pm
] >> [ laughter ] we are in the midst of a tranquil pattern that will last for a while, clouds and sunshine, high cloud cover, so it's not enough to bring us moisture. any hints of disturbing weather are off the coast. so the active pattern we are in is taking a break for a little while. as we head through the next couple days you will notice a slight uptick in wind speeds, but it won't be so breezy, an offshore breeze will kick in tomorrow. and as long as we aren't singing rain in the forecast , our air quality isn't going to be great, and the moderate carriage overhead, it's not bad, but it's not getting much better. everybody is between 53 and 56 degrees, not a whole lot of variation. denies temperatures will be all over the place. about 40 along the
3:19 pm
coast, and to upper 30s around the bay, with temperatures inlet mostly near freezing, and the coldest spots dropping to the upper 20s, but as those offshore winds kick in that is a downslope direction, that warms things up a little bit. napa for instance shouldn't be quite as chilly. high temperatures tomorrow may be a degree or two warmer today, that doesn't mean we will climb to normal temperatures, but we will be within two or three degrees of what's normal. we are still hunting for that next chance of rain. let's look at our long-range forecast models. 5:00 on monday, and these two models, the american and european, are telling two different stories, especially as we head into tuesday. the european model is more optimistic, bringing showers to the north bay and the rest of the area and the american model, you get nothing at all.
3:20 pm
i am betting the american forecast model will be more accurate, even though it leaves us dry, it will probably trend closer to what we can expect, and the long-range outlook which takes us through christmas eve, and the 14 day outlook takes us through about the end of the year. dry and normal conditions for the next couple weeks, and it's mostly a dry seven-day forecast. we have subtle ups and downs, but mostly we are in the 50s pretty much across the board. mid-50s around the bay, mid to upper 50s further inland. the one exception, we will put a chance of a shower in the north bay on tuesday, but that's the only chance we are seeing at this point , reed . the controversial and creative way one country is trying to cut down on smoking deaths. watch us anywhere anytime on our cbs news bay area app . catch news, weather, and other updates on the
