>> hi, everybody. the repair work is on after that powerful northern california quake and guess what, the bay just felt some shaking, too. holiday storm , we have the travel outlook across the country. a star players deal falls through, leaving the giants scr afternoon, everyone, i'm reed cowan. did you feel it? 3.1 magnitude shaker hit around 8:37 this morning. we are glad to tell you no reports of any damage there, near san leandro. this comes after the 6.4 magnitude quake hit toward north humboldt county. crews are busy working on the firm bridge which was damaged in the shaker. governor gavin newsom has declared a state of emergency for that area. many are still without electricity right now, and 14,000 are also without power without water, too. where the

mentioned. good luck. pack some treats. now, first alert chief meteorologist paul heggen joins us with a look at the forecast. you half to feel for people. >> yeah, it's going to be a mess . let's take a look at the big picture perspective, and we'll zoom in for a closer look with you cast. we have snow showers around denver. any hapless is getting blizzard conditions. that storm will bring messy conditions for chicago and st. louis. but the strong winds will still be whipping up that snow and causing delays for minneapolis, even denver as well. there will be all sorts of rain tomorrow along the eastern seaboard with a mixture of rain and snow the farther north you go towards new york. his entire storm system continues to intensify as it was for the east. on friday, that's a busy travel day, the day before christmas eve, you will see rain changing to snow for washington, philadelphia, new york, rainy

conditions around boston, and it will still be breezy through those hubs in chicago, detroit, and the twin cities. at the same time, a new storm system will be bringing an ice storm to seattle, which will likely bring delays on friday as well. let's take a look at those east coast hubs. all these places are likely to have delays, new york, dc, boston, philadelphia, chicago, and even atlanta, where they won't get the temptation. it will just be cold and windy . and the wind chill to the middle of the country is going to be way below zero. so if you are headed that direction, make sure to bring extra layers to throw on once you land. we will check our much more tranquil forecast coming up. >> thankful to be living here. preschool could be guaranteed accessible and affordable. the city sex successfully defended measure aa. mayor libby schaaf and her final scheduled news conference today to cheer on the big news.

looks a little more impressive than it's going to be. even a few hundredths of an inch would help wash some of that chimney smoke out of the air with more showers possible into tomorrow evening and tomorrow night. then things change on friday morning, we see a calmer pattern for the end of the workweek into christmas rake. that a few hundredths of an inch . air-quality , especially in the east bay, we will be moderate across the bay tomorrow. current forecast shows air-quality once again , even after that rain moves through, little lower down within that moderate category. so we will for more improvement next week with a better chance of prolonged , unsettled weather moving in monday night and continuing tuesday into

wednesday, the storm door, swinging open, and it stays open for while. the 10 day outlook through the climate prediction center shows a significant chance of what conditions , and that continues into the first several days of 2023. right now you see a mix of hazy skies and left over fog at mt. diablo. concord's temperatures are 51, while everyone else is mid-50s to 60. tonight, we drop down to the low to mid 40s, just a very chilly spot . then highs will warm up ahead of that chance of rain. upper to mid 50s along the coast , and around the south end of the bay, low 60s in the santa clara valley, 62 in san jose. we'll upr s inland and east that comes bato e bay. tempurll t in e e bain francisco, the north bay is likely to reach into the 50s thursday afternoon, slightly cooler as you head farther

francisco ballet dancers will dazzle the sold-out crowd with the magic of the nutcracker. in the audience will be families with children with special needs. dancer, kimberly, and olson, will perform an act one. >> when i watched this exact production as a kid it changed my childhood and maybe want to become a ballet dancer when i was younger. >> kimberly started training at the age of 6 during a pre-pandemic sensory or autism friendly workshop she was especially touched by a young girl, pictured here , who was not able to see the full show at the opera house. >> i just remember having this girl attached at the hip with me the entire day. she had that sparkle in her eyes, and i could tell she wanted to watch us, not just in the studio doing a small performance as a snowflake, but she wanted to see the entire show. the san francisco ballet and autism society san francisco-bay
