problem. a lot of fissures don't know when they can deliver the crab in time for new year's eve celebrations. it's all because of the high winds and rough surf expected on the ocean because all of this weather. a lot of seafood buyers are also closed for the holiday. here's the bottom line. the earliest that you could expect fresh dungeness crab is early next week. and darren, i have to show you something. is so cool. this guy is literally surfing the streets, flooded streets earlier this week. we don't recommend this. if my kids are up late, don't do this. this area got severe flooding and so people took advantage and this surfer got his surf board and put it on the back of an suv and dragged him right along through the street. once again i plead to my kids don't do this. >> and we will have a lot more rain coming up. that is the morning is the focus but before we get there tonight and friday. we've got rain pretty widespread and steady. tomorrow we get breaks what it will be more of a focus for the north

down to the south bay and it will clear by late morning and that's when we will finally start to kind of bring things to a close. we're not done with this entirely until we get to sunset on saturday. you don't get rained on for new year's eve and i know a lot of people were wondering about that so let's get that out of the way. new year's day will be great but the issue is all the rain is coming between now and then. those are the totals of the time you're done with friday and when you add in saturday you see why that's different. those numbers went up a lot for that saturday system. if there is a flood watch i know a lot people have the history here in the bay area and it's usually the rushing river that makes headlines particularly as it goes through glenville and if you look at the forecasts everything from this line on shows you what the forecast is for the river. you can see the dates down there. even though
1:53 am
there is a lot of rain coming and a flood watch we will have to be mindful when it comes to the smaller tributary streams and creeks and for some street flooding as well but the major river that gives us usually the most dramatic pictures of the flooding in the bay area is not at risk from this one. and the snow is going to disappear all day tomorrow it will be reined in the sierra. snow level will be above 9000 feet and then the snow will return late on saturday afternoon and watch the snow level come back down the mountain and by that point just look at that tail end of the storm will make up for lost time and the sierra will come away with a paps perhaps a foot or more. we see our first alert day on saturday. sunday, happy new year, new year's day you can have your outdoor plans without concern of rain and then know there's more rain coming next week and we will focus on those storms once we get through saturday. >> straight ahead in sports the best thing i saw today, this man , 49ers faithful. we
