in the hours ahead. hopefully you are inside. we ar powerful damaging wind and rainthreat of thunderstorms in play e rain and wind e impact to the south but instead it was directed at the bay area, particularly the southern half. strongest gusts on the map the oakland airport 55 miles per hour. 56 miles per hour gusts at half moon bay. we have seen gusts over 70 miper hour for parts of the bay area and numerous reports of damage in santa cruz county. the icons on the map are separate. flooding or wind damage reports. you can see the cluster associated with the core of winds that moved on shore after noon today. about three dozen different

wind damage reports within that timeframe in santa cruz county. the rain continues to come down. not just the potential of bind damage and tree but flooding and debris flows. another band of heavy rain is making its way on shore. that is associated with another burst of gusty winds. this area here, the brighter the color, over 55 miles frnticcelica d erofethcoe un. y set up with a couple of different centers of low pressure rotating around each other. the up shot, gusty winds and heavy rain continuing for the next several hours. it will be coming at us in bands. it won't rain everywhere all the time but overall a wet, windy evening until the storm system finally drifts farther

stion has seven officers working on any given night and the fight happens after school hours. one student tells us it is an extension of what she sees on campus. >> it starts in middle school. the middle schools used to be a lot safer when i started in sixth grade. it became so violent by the end. we don't have enough staff to prevent the fights or help the kids out. >> this is part of a troubling trend among violence with teenagers. you may remember last monday a 12-year-old was taken into custody after police say he stabbed another teen on a muni bus. on friday a student stabbed another student in the library of a middle school in san frans the board isrvpenow. th ceyece there.

on wednesday then a there into wednesday afternoon i upwhat has fallen, a bull's-eye to the south korea mountains. i think that is an overestimate of 3 inches of additional rain in the santa cruz mountains. half of that could be disastrous within santa cruz county and similar impact on the peninsula as well. hour by hour winds are going to continue to be gusty through the rest of the evening. the high wind warning and advisory expire at 9:00. by 11:00, we will have 20 to 30 miles per hour gusts. gradually that becomes less of a factor early tomorrow morning and after the sun comes up tomorrow, the showers wind down and the wind will calm down as well. we have to get through this evening and be prepared for additional power outages. if you have power?
