wish them that win. the first alert weather rescue from tulare county, look at that drone footage shows two people and a dog who had to get on top of their vehicle after ignoring road closure signs and ended up stuck in the flood waters. the good news is the sheriff's office plane spotted them and they were helped out. time to look at the first alert forecast, you can't be too careful out there. >> no, you can't, especially here at home the next two days. make sure you're really careful, because we'll get enough rain that it may be a roadway flooding issue, not widespread but some pop-up spots across the bay. but the bigger focus from the approaching storm is the wind, so let's talk about how this wind will play out and why it's still going to be an important part of the forecast even if it's nowhere near as bad as last tuesday's storm, which is still fresh in a lot of people's minds. here's how the storms are watch
3:19 pm
rapidly this intensifies into a area of low pressure, and if you visualize it like this, you can see the eye of the storm. a closer look, and we'll focus on what this is for the wind and what we want to watch at 4:00 a.m., see this band here, that is the cold front of the storm, and that is what we're going to experience. thankfully, not this, which is different from the last storm. tuesday morning, the winds from the cold front all the way the center of the storm intensifies and appears to be closer where you have some of the more dangerous winds, but if you watch, that it stays off the coast, and it's really close, but we don't feel it like we did the last one, so we'll see how we will experience this. you can actually see the cold
3:20 pm
front approaching right here tomorrow morning with gusting of 50 along the coast where it will be the strongest, but for the majority of it, it's like a 30 to 40-mile-per-hour wind gusts, and that will go right through the late morning. you can see the back edge of the cold front right here, and as it careens on the south bay and you get a northerly flow, so that window is the concern for wind tomorrow. 45-mile-per-hour gusts are still strong enough, we can have an occasional downed tree with the wind advisory from 5:00 a.m.-2:00 in the afternoon. that covers the wind factor. let's talk about the rain. just as the same time we get the wind, we'll get the widespread steady rain from 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. this is one of the most impressive times in the storm where everybody gets rain, it's
3:21 pm
steady and it can add up in the late morning, so it looks like it will hold off until the morning and 10:00, going through heart of the bay, and we watch that line like we did with the wind, with the back edge here in the afternoon. we're not done, because from then on throughout the remainder of tuesday and wednesday, we have scattered showers as a possibility, and watch the circulation off the coast. the closer to the circulation, the higher for the possibility of thunderstorms, and those would happen most likely tuesday night until wednesday morning. you add it all up with the most of the rain coming tuesday morning and the scattered showers lingering around thursday, we pick up more rain in general, more in the south bay, and that is likely for the concerns of urban flooding, so watch that closely. the good news is after we get
3:22 pm
