first statement back on the house floor. >> i'm hopeful for the days ahead of nashville not because of the actions of this body but those people gathered outside the chamber who are calling for something better. >> jones was winone of two blac democrats recalled last week. the abortion pill mifepristone could be pulled from pharmacies by friday, but the justice department has filed an appeal to keep it available to the public. last friday, a federal judge in texas suspended the fda approval of the drug citing safety concerns. one of two approved pills used together to carry out abortions in the u.s. >> we think the judge totally got it right. the fda has to go back. it has to be transparent about the studies it relied on to make its decision and it's got to follow the science. >> mifepristone is one of the

soil when it went off the road, struck a ditch and utility pole and overturned yesterday. about half the load spilled. officials say the spill was contained and does not pose a threat to nearby waterways. the driver suffered minor injuries. video shows the moment a building collapses in mexico, and the mother of a young boy who shot his teacher faces criminal charges. those are some of the headlines on the morning newsstand. the "richmond times-dispatch" reports a virginia grand jury indicted the mother of a 6-year-old boy who shot and wounded his elementary school teacher in january. the 25-year-old mother was charged with child neglect and endangering a child by recklessly storing a firearm. police say she bought the gun legally. her attorney says the gun was secured on the top shelf of a closet in her house and had a trigger lock. prosecutors have ruled out charging the boy. the "honolulu star advertiser" says a surfer was bitten in the leg by a shark.

officials say the 58-year-old man was bitten by an 8-foot tiger shark sunday in the waters off honolulu. the paramedics performed life-sating saving treatment to the individual who's in serious condition. >> this is unfortunate to him. the guys who were able to use the leash as a tourniquet were definitely able to save his life. >> it was the fourth confirmed shark incident in hawaii. and the "san diego tribune" says two buildings collapsed in tijuana, mexico, due to landslide. it was evacuated last month. days later the first building collapsed onto a road sunday. authorities plan to demolish the second building, but it came down on its own. the road was closed earlier when debris began to fall.
