1:40 am
it was a pretty focused effort. pretty broadly if we lost this game tonight was over, so you have to understand the moment. it was just one game that was a big game for sure. >> he is right. it is just one game. but, jules, the warriors are 12-1 at home in the playoff under kerr. they need to make i 13-1 on sunday to even up that series. we will be back later i sports with more shout outs on what the warriors did tonight. >> looking forward to that, vern. the fans also playing a part in tonight's win. the voices heard inside and outside the arena. there were a lot of people out at thrive city to cheer on the dubs tonight. andrea nakano was out there all evening long. crowds have left, but i am sure the atmosphere must have just been off the charts. >> reporter: yeah, juliette. th fans were truly amazing tonight they were loud during the entire game, and even during some of the time-outs. we met

1:43 am
>> reporter: the warriors are still down 2-1, but these fans say that with this team on the floor, repeating as champs is not out of reach. >> going back to the we believe era, i believe. nobody can tell me different. >> there are still tickets available for the game. prices start at $300. i know, juliette you like to sit courtside, so those only cost about $10,000. but the next game is on sunday at 12: 30 at chase! >> andrea, thank you! note our other big sports story. the future of the a's in oakland is more uncertain than ever, after mayor sheng thao said she had had enough and the city would not negotiate with the team any further over a new ballpark. this came after team ownership announced they had agreed to purchase a 49 acre site near the vegas strip to build a $1 billion stadium.
1:44 am
>> we were the closest we have ever been to sealing the deal, and i get a very disappointing phone call. i want to be very clear. this announcement happened mid negotiations. it shows they had no interest in reaching a deal with oakland at all. oakland is not interested in being used as leverage in th a's negotiations with las vegas >> so the a's would just be the latest professional team to leave oakland in recent years, following the raiders leaving for las vegas and the warriors moving before them to san francisco in 2019. shawn chitnis spoke with fans about this loss. >> baseball is my sport and the a's are my team. >> reporter: joe has been a season-ticket holder for more than 20 years. he has collected plenty of souvenirs and many more memories cheering on the

passion for its teams. but that passion comes from the fans. it doesn't come from ownership. >> reporter: for joe who has plenty of gear that could go up in value now that the team is leaving, it is not much of a consolation for losing the a's. >> i would trade the value of all of it for the team to stay. >> fans and insiders in vegas were less shocked by the announcement as they now get se for another bay area team to potentially move in. the new ballpark location is about a mile north of allegiant stadium where the raiders play , and just west of the las vegas strip. many people are shocked to see the move come to fruition, but a former vegas reporter says it's business. >> there are conventional thing you could say. sure, it is a huge tourist draw. millions of people will come. the a's believe they will get thousands and thousands and thousands of visitors to come to that city just to see an a's game.
1:47 am
>> so a's president dave kaval that after negotiations with th city they have reached their wits end. >> it is a sad day for the fans but by the same token it has been a 25 year saga. our curren facility is 10 years past its useful life. we need to find an alternative that works, and we have a path in las vegas that can put the franchise on solid footing. >> here is some a's history. they played their first game in 1968 after moving from kansas city, winning the championship in oakland four years later in 1972 and going on to win three titles in a row. in 1989 the a' squared off against the san francisco giants and the bay bridge series that was famously interrupted by, yes, the loma prieta earthquake. as for what's next of the coliseum site, it is up in the air. the

1:55 am
it to 71, which is pretty much spot on for average. tomorrow, that number is going up. noticeably. tomorrow we hit 80, which now places us close to 10 degrees above average. it is going to feel really different. the last time you hit 80 in san jose, you have to go all the wa back to october 20th. it has been a while since we done it. technically we hit 79 a week ago, but we haven't hit 80 yet. just for perspective, that is a big jump that is nowhere near the record. the record is 92. the last time we were at 92 degrees on tomorrow's date, you have to go back to 1920. it has been a while since we have been there, but perspective is alway a good thing. we will leave behind the numbers for san jose tomorrow, then we will put the numbers on san jose for right now. this evening we have our life picture back there. right now the temperature in san jose has come down noticeably. it is 55 degrees there. you will go down to the upper 40s for morning lows. but let's get
1:56 am
everybody else in here. it will still be low 80s for just about every other in the location. 80 in livermore tomorrow. you were right around 70 today. will be 81 in concord. 80 in santa rosa the story is the same for all o these. it is a 10 degree jump from one day to the next. that is a lot to notice in one day. san jose was 10 degrees above average. here is another way to visualize that. anyplace on here that is in deep shades of orange, you are 10 degrees abov average. notice it is not equal look at the city, the peninsula and the coast. not are they not shaded, because they will b -- 67 would be the average daytime high tomorrow for san francisco. when you look at the coast, there are shades of blu out there. it will be below average on the coast thanks to pretty strong onshore breeze. w will still have a 24--mile-per-hour wind coming across the peninsula, while santa rosa will have a slow breeze. that is how you get the differences this time of year.
1:57 am
in one sense we are really transitioning seasons right now the marine layer comes back on saturday morning. so we do the big temperature spreads, too. san francisco in oakland, maybe not as dramatic. will the upper 60s in oakland by sunday and monday. you will cool down a little bit over the next couple days. when you look at north ba temperatures, you stay in the mid-70s for much of the week. you will cool down, whether it is san jose or north bay or our warmest east bay valleys. you will cool down as well. but nobody is getting back to average. we will stay pretty warm. we are staying at least five to six degrees above average for the next week. >> it is unanimously! it is unanimously above-average! i had to redeem myself. coming up, we are looking a earth day and the ways that we can do our part to help the environment. ahead in sports, we have go ourselves a warriors-kings a
