here at home, double nation celebrates a warriors win. the work i had to stay in the playoff series against the kings. sunbathing in san francisco is happening. how long our bay area warm-up will last. good afternoon. i'm elizabeth cook and for reed today. if you have been outside, you have felt the huge different. a warm up around the bay area and feel so good. here is a live look across the region. blue skies finally looking and feeling like spring. first alert meteorologist darren peck is here with your first alert forecast. >> we are doing numbers like late october. the main thing is how different it is from just yesterday because we jumped like 10 degrees in a lot of places. if we take a look at san jose, it is a live picture in the next fouys, got of this ba

will cool down a little bit. san jose, these are your specific numbers. daytime highs right around 80. you are still 78 tomorrow. notice what happens here. there was a little cooldown for sunday and monday but we are not staying down long. we are going to warm right back up again by the time we get to tuesday. if you are enjoying this, it will be around for a while. we will get everybody else in the bay as well. this just in. governor gavin newsom has announced an agreement between the chp, california national guard, san francisco police, and the san francisco das office to work together to address the fentanyl crisis. according to an analysis by the chronicle, san francisco had the second highest overdose rate in the country and the second highest death rate from fentanyl overdose. that was back in 2020. the clock is ticking from the u.s. supreme court to decide the fate of an abortion

pill. justices gave themselves a deadline of midnight eastern time. anne makovec joins me with the details. >> this is the first major abortion related case the supreme court has considered since its conservative majority overturned roe v. wade last june. a small group of antiabortion demonstrators gathered outside the supreme court . that is the justices weighing whether or not to keep a commonly used abortion pill available nationwide. earlier this month, a trump appointee blocked the fda approval of mifepristone, one of two drugs used in medicated abortions on the market. and speed appeals court later voted the approval of the pill should stand but imposed tighter rules on how the drug is prescribed and dispensed. democrats have been trying to make access to abortion the law of the land but they have not made much headway. >> we are controlling the senate by two votes. republicans control the house of representatives. a notion of legislation is a political

reality of what we are facing. >> republican-controlled houses did pass national 20 week abortion bans in 2013, 2015 and 2017. they say they're not trying to do so again this year and the white house says it is prepared to continue to fight for abortion rights no matter how the justices rule. >> thank you. now two other stories we are following around the bay area. a pleasanton homeowner says a tow truck plowed into his house yesterday. he tells us it stopped just a few feet from where he was sitting and luckily he only had minor scrapes and bruises from all that debris. it appears the home has been red tagged by the city. we reached out to police. prosecutors, parents, and teams recommended the maximum sentence of 20 years for the los gatos woman accused of throwing alcohofu rties for heenn and his friends. shann cunts cluding felony child abuse, sexual

assault and providing alcohol to minors. she will meet with the judge and attorneys next month to talk about the sentencing decision. later she will decide whether to accept a sentence and plead guilty or go forward with a trial instead. they were marching with a message on climate action. and san francisco today, members of youth versus apocalypse organize a rally just had a birthday tomorrow. the group is demanding governor gavin newsom make effective climate action moves. they marched from civic center plaza to the state office complex building. the warriors are celebrating their first win of the playoff series against sacramento kings. that dubbs dominated game 3 but there is work to be done. vern glenn joins me now. we know they can do web. >> in a got a habit game, the warriors, as you knowit delivered. everythi thatgo em beat in sacramento, they cleaned up. turnovers, points off turnovers, second chance

effort. if we lost this game, it was pretty much over. you got to understand the moment. it is just one game but it was a big game for sure. >> can they exhale? god, no. they've got to win sunday and then roll up the smackdown for game 5, just holding at home. it is not going to cut it. the warriors have to win on the road to pull this thing off. the series does not start until the road team wins. >> i was thinking they get the momentum from being at home. having domination, winning in your home arena, there is something that adds the momentum. >> there were a couple of times in the game where curry started yelling at the crowd. that certainly did help. >> that crowd energy is like their medicine. >> they've got to bring it sunday. we know that fan support

all the way for morgan hill to watch the dubs play alongside thousands of her closest dove nation friends. thursday night as the warriors desperately needed a win to stay in the series. >> of course we were going to win. after what happened with green, it just motivated the warriors to go out there and win. it was simply amazing. >> there was never a doubt what was happening. this was steph curry. this was klay thompson. but some respect on these people's names. these were generational talent. we will never see the likes of these guys again in the nba. >> last season, the underdogs won the championship. this is the bay area. >> the warriors are down two

games to one in the series but fans say with the group on the floor, repeating this chance is not out of reach. >> back in the we believe eric, i believe. no one can tell me any different. >> she believes. >> that dubs need three more wins. they will get a chance to defend home court. we are hearing from longtime fans about the a's plan to move out of oakland and into vegas. the team plans to build the stadium near the strip not far from where the raiders play. the a's would be the third professional sports team to leave the east bay in recent years. our shawn chitnis talked to fans about this potential loss. >> baseball is my sport and the a's are my team. >> reporter: joe a dello has been a season ticket holder for more than 20 years. he has collected plenty of souvenirs and many more memories cheering on the a's. >> he was still optimistic there would be a way to keep them in oakland. >> it gave me a lot of hope that they would be staying.

>> on thursday, he saw the move for them self. they were preparing to move to las vegas. >> for oakland, it will be devastating, somewhat for the east bay in general but for oakland. it will be a huge impact. >> a signed to him that they have given into the needs of the business more than anything else. >> a spore should be about the sport, not all about the money. >> brandon jones has been a panel of his life and showed off some of the gear he has collected over the years. he says his heart dropped when he found out the a's were leaving. it is like losing a family member for him. >> it is sad and upsetting. >> veteran sports writer dave newhouse, who just wrote a book about the teams leaving oakland, he says fans in the city have gone through more heartbreak than any other in the country, losing one sport after the other. >> i think oakland is a town unlike any other in terms of its passion and teams. the passion comes from the fans.

the 2020 wildfire season destroyed nearly 20 northbay wineries and damaged dozens more. many of those that survived lost grapes due to all that smoke and that threw the 2020 vintage into uncertainty. our lauren thoms took a trip to napa to show us how things turned out for the wine and for the people who make it. >> for marcus notaro, winemaking runs in his blood. >> we are italian. my dad made wine for the house. neighbors and friends would come over. i like listening to the conversation. it was always interesting to me. >> today he is the head winemaker and his passion is shown through his product. >> people are opening up with their stories. it is like i was a kid listening to people. there was the wine, the conversation. people were enjoying it, talking about the wine, talking with each other. making a product or making

something for the table that inspires people to have a great time and have conversations is something that is very rewarding. >> in 2020, that reality is sidelined as a global pandemic shook councils across the world and conversations turned virtual but in napa, wineries had another challenge, a devastating fire season that destroyed dozens of wineries just up the road on silverado trail and threatening dozens more. >> the biggest challenge in 2020 for us and valley wide is the sheer size and scope of the fires. >> may have their wines tested to determine the viability but the expert senses told him what he already knew. they lost a quarter of their grapes that year as smoke was absorbed into the skins of the fruit. >> everything has a taste. if that taste is not going to help bring out the expression of the fruit, then you are not making a better wine. >> the rest of the crop they were able to salvage and move forward in the winemaking

process. they had one expectation when they first tasted it. >> it better be good. >> the swirl of the glass tells the story of the vineyards in the hands that have produced their wines for decades. >> these wines need to be number one about this place. they are special. >> the heat that 2020 brought to the napa valley change the flavor profile but to marcus's satisfaction. >> to characterize the 2020 wines, they have more of a riper aroma to them. they had a richer structure to them as well which is also related to those that we had in september. >> this vintage celebrates the highs and lows that 2020 brought. >> when you can get through some of these difficult times together, it makes you stronger. the things you think about when you are tasting the product here almost 3 years down the road. >> for marcus, it is the most challenging years that produce the most rewarding vintages that bring people fothcast with

meteorologist darren peck. >> we made it to 80 in several locations. >> unreal. >> first time for us to do this. while it does catch a lot of people with that sentence, it is about 10 degrees above average, which is within the realm of not all of that crazy records for this time of year. they are well into the mid-90s for most of these warmer spots. how wonderful this feels for so many of us says more so about how far below average we had been for much of spring. let's take a look at concord. a live look right now at the top of mt. diablo. that is one of our locations that have an 80 degree number on it. for a little perspective, we will get a little bit of this back over the next few days. as we get into saturday, sunday, monday, there is a little bit of a drop. you are above average. look what is coming back for

much of next week, more of that. they just wanted you to see that first . this is sticking around for a while. san francisco, you're not quite getting this as much as other locations are. by that, i mean, you are not that warm in the city. traffic is moving just fine. it is 66 degrees in san francisco. that is an average daytime high. it is a really nice day but the city is not in this 10 degrees above average world that so much of the bay . santa rosa, 80. along the bay shore, you see the shades of green. tri-valley, livermore, 79 degrees right now. the same story will show up with you through a little bit of a dip here. if you look at where we are above average today across the bay area, a unique way to visualize it. the deeper the shades of orange, the further above it you are. the inland

valleys have it. we will switch from friday to saturday and we will see that story for part of the weekend. we got to give some of it back. some of the inland valleys are above average we have taken a lot of the shade in the bay. for the majority of us, these are the numbers on the saturday. low 70s along the bay shore. we have to settle for more mid-70s on saturday. remember, a southern cooling trended. i don't think you will notice much. in the mid 60s along the bay shore. 81. when we look at the 7-day forecast, san francisco and oakland are up first. oakland, 67 on monday but you will be right back into the low 70s. mid-70s by monday, back to the low 80s again. same story for san jose. they are doing this same story. we will have more on this coming up later. back to you. still ahead, they are

francisco was building bridges by working to diversify the industry. we go inside the nonprofit that takes kids into the world of s.t.e.m. through video games. >> nearly 2 hours a day, you can find zaire creating characters and solving missions in the world of video games. >> i like gaming but i would rather go into building my own and creating my own games. >> there is a group trying to turn his skills into a career. it is called the bayview unite gaming club. it is giving black and brown boys a safe space to come to to diversify the world of video games. >> something that i also learned was more like creating bonds with the people you know and getting connections so you can get into other spaces. >> reporter: they not only play video games but receive mentoring, college prep and overall support in life. >> the gaming stuff, you are good at. some of your naturally

gifted. it is the other stuff that you need support on. >> what i believe the next generation of s.t.e.m. students through gaming. you have to be able to do all four of those science, technology, engineering and math to be able to do gaming. why not usher them in through something so fun in a medium that is exciting right now? >> according to the international game developers associations, a recent report, only 4% of game creators identify as black and buck is hoping to improve that. >> they don't have my hairstyle, i don't think. i would like to put in more african american hairstyles. >> only in its first year, the free gaming club hopes to expand and create more opportunities throughout the bay for kids like slayer. coming up, instead of swimming with the dolphins, ala
