this series. governor newsom's visit got a lot of attention last week as you know after he announced he was crackingn ugs and drug dealing there. the surprise visit will see it firsthand but the district supervisor fellow democrat is calling the appearance a meaningless publicity stunt. the government could show leadership by advancing health like treatment on demand and overdose prevention sites. this latest publicity stunt does not improve conditions in the neighborhood. it is to appease national conservative media. oakland police and two shootings overnight. the first was a party on international

boulevard. two were taken to the hospital. one is not expected to survive. the other sustained life-threatening injuries east bay times is reporting the victims were a mother and her 13-year-old daughter. a third person, a friend of the family was also injured. a total of four people were killed this weekend wrong way crashes across the bay area. early this morning a head on collision on highway 237 killed both drivers n. san rafel one driver dead and the other is in the hospital with injuries. yesterday afternoon, a woman died after she was hit head on, two others injured. a pedestrian in sunnyvale died yesterday evening. the department of public safety says a man was crossing the street when he was struck. the driver who hit him stayed at the scene and cooperated with

the officials. in san jose one person is in critical condition after a hit and run last night. the police say two cars collided at the intersection of piedmont at midnight. nine people have died in traffic accidents in san jose so far this year. in other news tonight, supporters coming out for district attorney pamela price. they are out demanding that people stop attacking her. >> betty yu spoke to her supporters and detractors [ crowd chanting ] . >> reporter: fresh off of a trip to montgomery, alabama, district attorney price opened her speech outside of the alameda county courthouse reflecting on the civil rights movement. >> when you show up for freedom and justice, you have to be ready for the backlash. some people often say why does it
