the third pick where they went to the other side of the ball and nabbed will anderson junior. time for a look at the forecast with our first alert chief meteorologist paul heggen to fill us in on the weekend. >> it's looking good as we finish off the workweek. lots of sunshine. a few passing clouds other than the fog that has been stubborn on the coast. that will be spreading out through the rest of tonight. areas of fog on the coast, bay and inland valleys. it will be warm inland tomorrow. the cloud cover will be really tough to shake, stubborn on the coast keeping temperatures below average. another day with a wide range of temperatures. sunday, breezy and cooler for everybody. the cool temperatures next week. we add more rain chances to the forecast for the first week of may. downtown oakland, the camera is shaking a bit wi noab 66 in san francisco. inland

temperatures from 78 in san jose and santa rosa to the 80s inland to the east bay. 87 right now in livermore. if you are heading out to oakland, the coliseum to watch game one of the a's series against the cincinnati reds, temperatures a few degrees cooler by 6:00. game time 6:40. temperatures coast downward 5 t0she spr ead the bay. let's track it. you can see the bright white where the fog is most widespread but spreading into the santa clara valley, maybe the inland valleys of the east bay then backs up to the coast. it will be tough to shake in san francisco and on the coast. that will have an impact on tomorrow's high temperatures. tonight a mix of 40s and mostly low 50s, close to average for the second to last morning of april. high temperatures tomorrow, close to normal around the bay. slightly below in san francisco because of the pper50s on the cloud 10 degre

coast. you will be cool. mid- to upper-70s down the peninsula and south end of the bay to low to mid-80s. farther inland in the santa clara valley, 86 in morgan hill. low to mid-80s in the east bay. tied with morgan hill, antioch and brentwood. temperatures around the bay cooler than today. temperatures top out around 70 degrees for oakland and the east bay with mostly mid-70s north of the golden gate. not as warm as other parts because the wind will be out of the south bringing the cooler air in the inland valleys until you go farther north. we go from temperatures inland running 5 to 10 above normal tomorrow to near or below average temperatures on sunday, the beginning of a big pattern shift that will bring rain chances to the bay area beginning on monday. the best rain chance is tuesday. but still lingering rain chances through the rest of the first week of may and into the first

today the city of fremont is holding a formal badge pinning ceremony for the new fire chief. she now is the highest ranking woman in the history of the fremont fire department. she joined in 2021. before that she spent 18 years with the city of oakland and became an assistant fire chief

there. congratulations. bay area neighbors are debating over fallen trees. which ones should be removed and which ones should stay. kenny choi shows us the battle over one tree that brings charm to a marin county home. >> looks like a spider got to it. not sure when they made the sign. >> reporter: it's called the tree house for good reason. they surround her tiny cottage near dylan beach. >> it has been known as the tree house for 40 years. >> reporter: she runs a san francisco preschool for decades working to pay off the mortgage and planning retirement. this is what she has been dreaming of, to get away from the noise in the city. >> it's beautiful. you come up here and look at all the trees. >> reporter: storm damaged trees are having battles. a neighbor complained about a limb and the arborist take a closer look.

>> they deemed the tree in poor health and a hazard and recommended its removal. >> reporter: public works tagged the cypress about 100 years old and told martin it's coming down. the problem is the down hasn't determined if part of the tree lies on private properweweren't allowed to enter the property. >> reporter: kpix 5 asked independent certified arborists to inspect the tree. >> the cypress can live up to 300 years. after the first 100, 120 years they go in declining stage. >> sometimes you can do cabling. keep two of the stems, cable them. >> reporter: she is asking the county to consider cutting it back for safety and a compromise instead of taking it down to the stump. >> i don't in my heart of heart believes the tree needs to be pulled down. >> reporter: she pulls out a book she is reading to preschool kids. >> i speak for the trees. i speak for the trees for they have no tongues. at the end of the story, he is sitting there
