from cbs news bay area. this is the evening edition. now at 11:00. the warriors championships continue as steph curry explodes in game seven against the kings. oakland police investigating an assault at a weekend sideshow where one of their own officers was seen driving through the chaos unphased. and then, another bay area french bull dog snatched from their owner's car. the owner's message to the thieves. >> i wish people stop stealing other people's pets. they are like their children. good evening. the doves now set to take on the lakers in the next round of the nba playoffs. after taking care of the kings tonight in game seven. >> but before we can look ahead to lebron and the lakers we need to find out what happened

car and after the driver got out the person was beaten by a group of motorcyclists, no word on if any arrests were made. staying in oakland, a woman is pleading for help finding her french bull dog after it was stolen from inside her car. >> it is part of a growing trend. french bull dogs are among the most stolen pet in the bay area. petty yu has the story. >> in less than one minute, a thief broke through a tesla at franklin and third. first, stole a purse out of the trunk from the inside and then went back for the french bulldog. 2-1/2-year-old. the dog resists as she gets dragged into the suspect's car. and even runs back to the owners. but, eventually yanked inside. it has been more than 48 hours since the dog was stolen. >> it was miserable for me to see that because. she was trying to hard. trying her

best to get away from those people. but, i was like so close but i was not there. so, i feel really bad and guilty because it was my fault. >> reporter: video shows the owner across the street running back toward her car just as the robbers finish the job and get away. toya, an attorney, gone to her law office to grab paperwork just after 8:00 p.m. on friday. >> i know french bull dogs are expensive but i thought. it would have been fine if i just left for two minutes. i was so wrong. >> reporter: in the last 2-1/2 years her car has been broken into a total of eight times near her workplace. she never left anything inside until friday. she has put up many flyers near her workplace and the scene of the crime for her stolen dog. she also said that there will be a reward. >> it was really hard for me to

taking some damage. >> some of the trails are open. but some are saying they need to pick up the pace on the trails. >> i tried both of the trail entrances and they are both blocked off. >> reporter: it is more than just a park. her attachment is fitness and family. and fond memories of hikes with her granddaughter. >> on previous hikes i have seen whole families hiking up the eagle rock. we taught my granddaughter how to hike by taking her up to eagle rock. >> reporter: she headed up for the first time this year. she heard about the storm damage that closed the park for months but never imagined the trail to her beloved eagle rock would not be accessible even now. >> we used to call it top of the world. let's go to the top of the world. it feels like you are on the top of the world. when you are up there

you can see all over san jose. it is really nice up there. >> reporter: it in the middle of a partial reopening. trails of red remain closed. yellow ones are back open. the main road into the park was under cut by erosion. it will need extensive and expensive repairs. and crews are still cleaning up other storm damage, rock slides, downed trees and deep channels cut into many of the popular trails by run off. >> once it starts to dry out a little bit that is when we can do the big repairs the ones that really matter. >> reporter: the challenge is, there is no firm time line for when the repairs will be finished. until then, hikers like her will just have to pack their patience and hit the trails that have reopened. >> i just showed up here and thought i would go for a quick hike. but no, can't do that.. >> and believe it or not talking about storm damage, i know this is not a big thing coming in but never the less, a
