details on all 37 charges that the former president is now facing, including allegations that he stashed military secrets throughout his home and showed them to visitors without security clearance. prosecutors say some of those documents included highly sensitive material, including details on the defense capabilities of the u.s. and its allies. documents he was not authorized to keep after leaving office. during the search of his property at mar-a-lago last august, federal investigators seized more than 300 records, including classified documents. summer marked a top-secret. they say the info included details on things like u.s. nuclear programs and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack. the raid was a 15 month effort by the federal government to retrieve records he had in his possession. special counsel jack smith detailed some of the charges today, which included unlawful obstruction, conspiracy, and false statements. but we have one set of laws in this country. they apply to everyone. applying those laws, collecting facts, that is what determines the outcome of an investigation. orr: prosecutors key piece of evidence is expected to be an audio recording in which the former president acknowledges he held

first lady joe biden will be in san francisco tuesday. she is scheduled to speak at three events , two of which are receptions for her husbands presidential campaign. san francisco is one of three cities the first lady will visit, including los angeles and new york. the white house says president biden is also expected to visit the bay a little bit later this month. get ready to pay a little more if you ride bart. we know that is not the news you wanted, but is what we have for you. the transit 80 board approved an 11% fare hike stretched out over two years. it will also cost more to park in bart lots. it will be anywhere from three dollars to just over six dollars every day, depending on the station. >> it forces me into a position where there is the choice of paying more gas to drive or pony up for bart.

>> reporter: his story is one that is becoming more and more common. >> it breaks my heart to see that this dog is still here. >> reporter: one he is just one of the around 900 animals currently at the shelter, a record high. there are around 250 dogs, 600 cats, and around 60 other animals, like rabbits. >> we definitely are way beyond our capacity for care. >> reporter: he says it is tough to identify one main reason why so many animals are ending up at the shelter. >> i think after covid, we started to see a lot of folks that have given the reasons of their housing situation that has changed, financial reasons, the lack of access to vet care, or moving out of the area. >> reporter: dogs like ronnie are staying in the shelter for more time now too. the average length of stay is up from 10

welcome back. looking at health news now. cases of colorectal cancer are on the rise. in fact, it is estimated to be the deadliest cancer for adults between the ages of 20 and 49 by the year 2030. we met with the mother diagnosed with the disease at the young age of just 34. now she is urging you to take your health seriously. listen to your body. >> reporter: in between her middle school literature lesson plans and raising two kids at home, janessa wasn't feeling nsnt bowel tsand all of my symptoms were easily explained away by just being a tired working mom. >> reporter: a friend told her to get checked out by a doctor just in case. her story took an

unexpected twist which you got a colonoscopy. >> they told me i had a tumor blocking my: and they could not complete the colonoscopy . >> reporter: she was only 34 years old when her life was forever changed. >> that is when i was told i had stage four colon cancer. i was given 18 months in the beginning. all i could think about was what i would miss, the graduations, weddings, and the little things too. >> reporter: now at 40, she is beat the odds from her original diagnosis, but every day continues to be a challenge. >> i am teaching full time and find it harder and harder to get through the days. i get to about lunch time and look at the couch in my classroom. it looks tempting. >> reporter: there has been an alarming rise when it comes to millenials and those younger than that. >> physicians are aware, but i'm not sure the public is still aware that it is a real

issue. >> reporter: health experts have not been able to pinpoint exactly why there are more people of younger ages getting diagnosed with colorectal cancer, but they do point to concerns about lifestyle practices. >> physical activity, obesity, sedentary lifestyle or risk factors. and diet, colorectal cancer, unlike most other tumors, is particularly sensitive to dietary changes. the western dietary pattern , high in fact, meat, in suites is not a good diet . >> reporter: the american cancer society says colorectal cancer in younger people has doubled since 1995 with new cases rising by 2% annually. what makes it difficult is that regular screening starts at the age of 45. younger than that, doctors say if you notice or early onset colorectal doc

cancer is hallmarked by unusual symptoms like fatigue, sleep disturbances. that makes it very hard to diagnose. >> i wasn't paying attention to my body. i wasn't listening to it. i wasn't looking out for symptoms. i am not even sure i had ever even consciously recognized colon cancer as a thing. i am sure i had, but i just -- it never crossed my mind. >> reporter: the reality of colon cancer is that it is deadly when caught late. it is curable when caught early. doctors say 92% of colorectal cancer can be cured if it is caught early. janessa wants everyone to take her advice , pay attention to what is going on with your body, not only for you, but the ones you love. >> my daughter is in a play right now. her very first play.

i just -- my desire, my drive to just be there for them, for these moments, gets me up every morning. >> reporter: janessa has had more than one of the chemo treatments since her diagnosis. the cancer has continued to spread for their her body, but she is holding on strong and cherishing every moment she can. >> even without screening, early detection is super important. things to look for are abdominal pain, unexplained rectal bleeding and any kind of blood in the stool. colon cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in the nation. there were also be a cancer prevention and fair at kaiser permanente in san jose this sunday. he could stop by and get educated. it is at the san jose medical center on international parkway. the nascar cup series kicks
