former president donald trump is set to surrender to authorities today in miami to face historic charges in the first federal criminal prosecution of an ex-president. trump arrived in florida yesterday ahead of today's arraignment on more than three dozen charges accusing him of mishandling classified documents and on structsing justice. security is tight around the court house. cristian benavides is there with the latest. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, anne-marie. mr. trump is expected to arrive around 2:00 for a 3:00 p.m. hearing but others are expected to arrive much earlier. officials say they're prepared for the crowds, whether large or small. in a matter of hours, former president trump will be arraigned in a federal courthouse in miami. he has said he will plead not guilty to 37 alleged counts to

mishandling of classified materials after leaving office. >> i'm an innocent man. i'm an innocent person. >> reporter: prosecution claims some documents contained information on u.s. military programs and secrets from bought the u.s. and foreign countries. >> the total volume and scope and sensitivity of this material is an intelligence catastrophe fonting to happen.orr: yesrd t new jersey to his resort in doral, florida, where some supporters and protesters gathered outside. >> it feels like a bit of a witch hunt to me. >> enough is enough. he needs to play. >> reporter: so far local law enforcement says it's not aware of any credible threats. >> we're bringing in enough resources to handle a crowd anywhere from 5,000 to 50,000. we don't expect any issues. >> reporter: the department of justice special counsel jack smith also arrived in miami last night. after his arraignment, trump plans to head back to his
