nowadays people do not carry cash. we are asking business owners to not carry any cash after the close of business an make sure they can go to the banks if they do have cash. turning to the up you would crisis in san francisco. the medical examiner released a new report on accidental overdose deaths, 74 people died from a overdose in may that is more than 2 per day and it is the worst month since they started keeping track of the data. 346 people overdosed and died sinc january. that is a 40% increas from the same period last year and is on pace to pass the numbers from the previous years

more help is on the way from the federal government with nancy pelosi announcing more money and manpower will be sent to the city to fight drug trafficking. this is part of operation overdrive . she released a statement that says operation overdrive will help the city address this tragedy b targeting criminals doing the most harm and reducing related violence. that is on top of the increased efforts by local police but some of the people that you with the crisis every day told us this kind of crackdown may not be the best solution. >> reporter: you do not have t travel far before you see somebody in the grips of the fentanyl bend. >> you see people bent over al the time. fentanyl is so strong, it kills them.
