mother down and then just drove away. their hope for justice could hang on to still images. betty yu sat down with the family and has the story tonight. >> reporter: oakland police is looking for a person who mowed woman down. she went for a walk the family was in the cross wal when the driver of a newer blac mercedes e-350 hit her. the suspect appeared to be speed racing. >> boom, i heard it and i, i turned and i looked back and he body flew away. and i run and i say mom, it is okay, i am here. don't worry and she is looking at me and gone, right away. >> reporter: a refugee who has been living in oakland for

like oakland would be excluded. tonight, three teenagers ar under arrest after a 15-year-ol was shot and killed t. happened on black smith way on arrowhead drive on saturday. the police say two groups got into an argument and started shooting a each other. they say it was gan related. the suspects are between 14 and 16 years old. earlier this month another 15-year-old was shot and killed the police say that was gang related, too, in santa rosa. they arrested a 23-year-old man a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl. >> chances are you have seen self--driving cars stalled out somewhere in san francisco. the state was about to let them operate almost anywhere in the city at any time but now, that is not happening, yet. incident involving cruise almost tripled as jose martinez reports that

cars they say there is the second time this has happened i just the last three months. a new report from the state attorney general's office says hate crimes are up in our state it found a 27% increase in hate crimes targeting black people, 24% increase in anti-jewish incidents and hate crimes based on sexual bias. the one bright spot, hate crimes against asian americans fell. the police in the east bay are looking for a woman suspected of robbing two banks in the same day. two hours and five miles apart in brentwood and a travis credit union in antioch. they were both hit yesterday. both times she passe the teller a note. she was wearing different clothes but the same sun glasses that you see in these images here. they say she might be driving a gray honda or nica sedan with tinted windows. the california sex offender

>> wow, powerful words there. okay. so, so-called safe and sane fireworks hit the shelves tomorrow in the california cities that allow them. here in the bay area there are only a handful of those. meanwhile, an illegal fireworks burst in southern california was so massive that a lot of people ha to evacuate. the police found 5,000 pounds of fireworks at a home in san bernardino, 5,000 pounds. dozens of people in the neighborhood had to stay out of their homes while crews came in gathered up all of those fireworks and ultimately found somewhere safe to blow them up. paul, this is why fireworks are so dangerous. >> yeah. this is a fire in riverside county today that quickly grew and spread to nearly structures, unfortunately. reporting of multiple homes destroyed as of this evening. only 5% containment, something we are concerned about heading into a hot weekend. >> absolutely. not the only thing we are keeping our eye on wildfires in canada, you
