11:16 pm
what's normal. which for livermore is 88 degrees. that's warm. but 91, the highest it will be the next ten days is not exceptional heat this time of year. in fact, the really long range data, it doesn't look like any of that will be headed our way until we get deeper into august. even then, the forecast models are all over the place. more good news is we will have good air quality for pretty much the entire bay area through the end of the workweek and the weekend. the fire burning in south western oregon, still producing smoke. not nearly as much as it was producing even a few days ago. i don't think it will have a major impact on our air quality. there's the fog spreading out from the mark hopkins hotel. temperature ins the mid 50s in santa rosa. everybody else in the low 60ed. on our way down into the mid to upper 50s pretty much across the board by tomorrow morning. the fog will continue to spread across the bay into the inland valleys but in the inland spots it will not last long.

11:18 pm
described as cool when you compare it to the normal 90s . temperatures peak saturday and sunday in the upper 60s in san francisco. low 70s in oakland. not much of a peak. temperatures further will be a little warmer. we will be back into the 70s in san jose. by tuesday and wednesday. inland in the east bay, the usual hot spots will be, well, the hot spots, saturday and sunday, but only the low 90s . no triple digit heat. and we are back down into the 80s next week with temperatures along the coast. hardly any change and hardly any sunshine either which is pretty par for the course. >> cooler than the ocean in parts of florida i have heard. >> quite a bit. 101? >> i can't even imagine. >> wow. >> thank you paul, we appreciate it. speaking of the ocean, people have been flocking to the santa cruz coastline to try and spot this little guy who likes to bite surfboards. that otter has managed to avoid being captured. fish and wildlife are trying to catch and relocate him or her

for his aggressive behavior, but the frenzy around the search for the otter is creating more problems. >> reporter: tonight, as the search for otter 841 continues, some have been spotted getting too close for comfort to local marine life. >> i have seen people come within a few feet. >> reporter: mark woodward has been capturing the surge for weeks: he spotted numerous people harassing many of the sea otters in the area. >> like the people that go to yellowstone and move right up to a bison and end up getting attacked by the bison. people need to respect wildlife. >> reporter: the u.s. department of fish and wildlife tells kion in a statement, southern sea otters are protected as federally threatened species act. they emphasize the importance of keeping a safe distance from wildlife. >> you can't do anything that would alter the animal's behavior. and we have a rule of thumb of
11:20 pm
about 100 feet of distance between us, harbor seals, sea lions. >> reporter: others like venture quest kayaking on the work tell me they are considering a supplemental rental agreement to help prevent people from disturbing the otters. for now, photographer mark woodward has this message for anyone who even thinks about it. >> if i see you getting too close and i happen to be here, i will take a photo of you with my long lens and turn it over to fish and wildlife or post online. >> fish and wildlife have been out there looking for the otter. they have been trying this for a couple of weeks now. the ground was shaking at the home of the san jose earthquakes. the the quakes hosted the event at paypal park alongside the bay area's newest pro women's
