closing. residents are worried they don't have a place to call home. good evening, i'm brian hackney. >> i'm andrea nakano. anchor brewings public tabs will close their doors for possibly the last time tonight. there is still hope someone could swoop in and save the day. >> the company announced plans to close down earlier this month after being in business for more than a century. but employees got together to make a pitch to buy the company. since then, dozens of other parties have come forward as well. >> tonight was about celebrating the company at their tap room where a huge line formed before the doors opened. betty yu was there with us with the latest. >> reporter: the 127 anchor brewing company had its final service on monday. they had to

turn people away. the line to get in stretched down the block. fans savored the last pint of their beer on their way out. tell me what you got here. >> a lot of memorabilia and some beers to go. >> reporter: picking up christmas ale. >> i typically don't drink it during the summertime. >> it goes back to the gold rush. announcing it will be closing because of a huge loss in sales largely due to the pandemic. employees were promised severance packages. why was it important for you as a boston resident and fan? >> nostalgia. >> reporter: bill covert stopped by before catching a flight on sunday. >> it's a shame that something like this was going away. we are just hoping someone is

going to rally. >> reporter: the future is still uncertain since announcing the closure, there are about two dozen investors who are interested in buying it during the liquidation process. the union is working with two law groups. the union wants to run it as a worker owned cooperative. you're going to have a hard time training everybody. >> reporter: anchor brewing spokesperson sam singer says there should be a decision in the next month or so as to who the owner or owners should be. >> the outpouring of support from employees to the public of san francisco is an indication of strongly they feel like with

the companies moving forward. >> reporter: sharing bittersweet memories of the beloved icon. >> it's good happiness. overall it's sad, but it's a nice sendoff. in other news tonight, x marks the spot of a big battle brewing over elon musk's flashy new sign. on top of what was the twitter building. it was so bright on friday night that neighbors were outraged. tonight it's dimmer. but the city is investigating whether he had the permit to put the huge d on top of the building in the first place. two vegetation fires started in san jose around six o'clock. meanwhile in concord, a small brush fire there closed a road closure on oak grove road. that road has since reopened.

people living near the pacific railroad in oakland's neighborhood say they are fed up. fed up with encampment tramp, ongoing crime, near the city. >> reporter: neighbors say there is crime and then this awful smell in this neighborhood. i can tell you it smells bad. i'll get to that in a second. first the visual stuff. neighbors say it happens on a daily basis. thieves will strip them from their parts. people appear to be removing tires and ere parts inside this red truck. sometimes the thieves would set the cars on fire. >> the winds blows towards us. >> reporter: anna's son now parks his car inside the gate

because it's been stolen twice. >> i've been here for 25 years, and it's never been this side. >> a lot of homeless people live near the tracks. neighbors are pouring human waste. the area smells like raw sewage. we cannot open our windows because the small is unbearable. >> reporter: the calls to the city and state have gone nowhere. >> anger and a lot of frustration and just feeling betrayed and feeling like we live in the city, we love the city. we choose to be here. in the end, we're completely abandoned. >> reporter: recently removing the stolen cars. and they say the thieves just come right back. >> we cleared this a week ago, but now you can see the

challenge where they are want more police patrols and union pacific to install tracking to prevent vehicle traffic. >> you complain and complain and complain and nobody does anything. >> reporter: instead of constantly cleaning up after the thieves, just set up operations to catch them. this area is being used as a chop shop. different streets, same problem near the corner of eaves and carey avenue, close to the san leandro border. the area was cleaned up after we reported on cars being abandoned last month along the railroad track. residents tell us it's sure a step in the right direction. >> it's not over. we need to keep the momentum up. it's a big change. it's beautiful to be able to look out my window

and not see oh they deserve to be better. >> the city launched a u new cars that used to be. over in petaluma, owners are considering of closing the park. >> reporter: mobile homes are often a great bargain in the bay area, but there is a downside. if the property owner ever tells you that you have to leave, how do you pack up to go if you actually own the house you are living in? that's the situation faced by residents of two mobile home parks. youngstown and mobile, notice of potential closure. in it owners say they're exploring the options of converting the park. richard leonard has lived in this unit for 33 years. he now shares it with his half

brother, darryl pike. but neither has any idea of how it could be moved. >> they said they were going to take it 50 miles away. we didn't know where. many of them could never be relocated even if the owners had the money to do it. where do you take this? >> nowhere. i don't have any and many people don't have another place to go with their letters. >> reporter: blame the cost of maintaining the aging infrastructure. but they also add another possible reason. the park owners conclude they can no longer operate the park

year. just to save us, the actual numbers look like that. concord 78, heyward will be 72. that's for your numbers that are coming in at 89, right on the mark. that's the drill. tuesday, wednesday, thursday, that's when the numbers go up, and you can see the numbers moving into tuesday afternoon. the takeaway from this is deeper shades of red have migrated over the west and it stays that way until thursday. numbers down into the upper 60s by wednesday and thursday. then you're back up to 81 on sunday. when we look at the numbers for the north bay and the south bay, you're down to 100 by
