yeah, you certainly have to have noticed the past several days. our temperatures will mak up for it and he dome will flex closer to us, so hot inland readings on wednesday but with an extra ripple in the atmosphere getting closer to us to cool us back down to near average by the end of the work week. you can see that progression as we look at the heat risk. moderate to a few high patches. make sure you tak it easy during the hottest part of the day. the heat risk shrinks a little bit on thursda and almost disappears by friday as we returned to near or slightly below normal and then it is up the other side of the temperature roller coaster again. keeping an eye on air quality we have a lot of moderate yellow dots which indicates smoke drifting down from the smith river complex along the oregon border. that was more concentrated earlier this evening and it will
11:16 pm
gradually thin out a bit, but still, enough of it for another air quality advisory from the air district. so gradually we will see more and more green dots on the map, but one more day tomorrow in the moderate category pretty much across the board. it is not anything into the unhealthy category, not eve healthy for sensitive groups. right now clear skies over san jose and temperatures a mix of 60 and 74. 74 in concord, 65 in santa rosa. temperatures later tonight will drop down to the upper 50s and low 60s. the fog is not going to make its wa too far into the inland valleys but where does it will not last long. we will see plenty of sunshine take hold already by mid-to-late morning, even along the coast, and that will help temperatures to warm up. we start slightly below average in the upper 50s and low 60s to temperatures running five to 10 degrees above normal tomorrow .
11:17 pm
mid-to-upper 90s in the tri-valley and the delta, low 90s for the north bay and aroun 90 in san jose with a mix of 70 and 80s around the bay, almost 70 degrees along the coast. it is temporary. temperatures will cool off this week. everybody cools off later this week with a slow warm-up kicking in over the weekend and into early next week. temperatures around the bay will stay in the 70s while inland readings will gradually return to mid-to-upper 80s with some of the hotter spots climbing into the 90s with lower temperatures in the 60s. matt? ahead in sports, kyle shanahan might make some fans angry with this quote about his quarterbacks, but i think most of it is fine. plus, a debut to remember for the giants

all right, matt lively is back with sports. so the giants i understand, are getting creative to try to figure something out? >> they are. promotions are pretty much part of the gig at this point. i want to know, if you ever had a fun promotion? >> i have not had many fun jobs but i did work at a call center for the american red cross! i ended up maybe not being promoted but working my way up little bit. what about you? >> i worked at chick-fil-a, so was maybe hurting the heart of the americans. i'm just going t go to the forts cast! the giants have not been afraid to promote from within this season, just like my bosse at chick-fil-a. patrick bailey, not even a top 15 guide to begi the year, has become a star. recently guys like elliott ramo have been called upon and it wa no different on tuesday but it was a much bigger deal. the

number one prospect finally got the call. kyle harrison made hi major league debut, his family in attendance, at citizens bank park in philadelphia. harrison showed off his arsenal of pitches and he struck out five phillies batters over 3 1/3 innings, throwing just 65 pitches before gabe kapler pulled the rookie out. giants trailed 2-1 but a timely hit from joc pederson flipped the game. jock golfs one into left center field and adjust slides beyond the reach of johan rojas the ball sends in two to give the giants the 3-2 lead. and then camilo doval in the ninth, the shutdown man, and bases loaded. with trea turner at the plate, this happened. bad bounce, sneaks through the infield, game-tying run comes and the game winning run. a heartbreaking way to lose, 4-3,

and it gets even worse for the giants. panic is officially setting and for this team. they no longer own a wild-card spot. they have lost six straight serious. since august 5th they are 4-12. the lack of a major trade has been paramount. the promotions and emotions are happening almost daily in the last two weeks. one thing is certain, the giants to have a bright future, but the flame could be running out this season. to the minors. there has been a lot of talk about their quarterbacks. this season the depth chart has been all over the place when you ask members of the media. on tuesday, kyle shanahan made it simple for everyone, keeping three qb's on the roster. have you seen this team's history? the order doesn't matter as long as those three are there. >> you keep three when you have three. it is hard with a 53-ma roster, but if you have a third

that you don't want to lose because guys are -- it is hard to have quarterbacks and keep them on the practice squad. tha is what you have to do. >> he said that you be too will not be decided until the regula season. brock purdy is the only person that really matters. he is the qb one. >> we have had qb one, qb two, all kinds of qb issues, so we have to be prepared for anything. >> as long as they are just there, i don't care about the order. i can tell that you hav just been stressed about this! don't stress. >> thank you, matt lively. we appreciate you sorting that out for us. taylor swift is not the onl
