lions infected by leftist process, sure. especially in the bodega bay area. the center is treating some of the patients hoping to bring them back to full health. >> just because the severity and the disease, by the time these animals are coming to shore, about one third are returned back to the wild. that is only because the disease has really taken root by the time they are coming to shore. >> the advice is to keep dogs on the beach away from sea lions. those will appear lethargic and have their flippers tucked into their bodies. the key to protecting charlie brown is to keep them leashed in public areas. >> we never, ever allowed them to be away from where we were. we always knew what they were doing, what they were about.

it is the responsibility of ownership. >> if a dog does get infected there is a one to two week delay in symptoms. those symptoms can include fever and kidney and liver failure. if your dog is around water often, there is a vaccine for it. >> down in southern california two rehabbed sea lions are back at sea tonight. the marine mammal center there had been overwhelmed with sea animals sickened by a toxic algae bloom. we talk about all of this because i am pretty sure that we are going to have people that want to go to the beach this weekend. >> it is not a bad idea, especially sunday. there is going to be more sunshine. it is kind of cloudy along the beach of the last several days emma but that will be gone by the second half of the weekend. let's take a look outside right now. not seeing any fog spreading out in downtown san francisco. that is on the way later on tonight. a shallow layer of fog. temperatures today did manage to warm-up. temperatures had the mid to upper 80s for inland parts of

the bay area. above 70 degrees in san francisco. underneath that fog in cloud cover, we only hit the low 60s. in pacifica, i think you'll build on that a couple degrees with a bit more sunshine and then i think you will see more son. earlier in the day, along because by sunday and continuing into monday. high temperatures to murdoch to almost exactly normal. that is a couple degrees cooler than today for inland parts of the bay area because of the onshore breeze will be a little bit stronger. it is hard to complain about temperatures that are exactly where they are supposed to be for this time of year. literally, every with an injury or two with what is normal for this time a year. we bore up a little bit beginning on sunday can we talk i'm not coming up in the forecast. >> i haven't heard you say average this month, in a long time, a long time considering where we should be or could be during the summertime. >> a big change. you look back three years ago, tomorrow, it was orange sky day. we are not seeing any of those weird things. i am thankful for that beer >> any day without fire danger is a great day. thank you, paul. you have to be brave to be

a cave explorer. it is inherently dangerous stuff. lowering yourself down in pitch black, squeezing into tight places, dodging falling rocks. american explorer has done all of that. he has caved in 20 states, 10 countries. now he is dealing with an emergency unlike any he has seen before. he has stuck far below the surface of the earth and he is very sick. now, there is an all-out international effort to save his life. >> american explorer mark dickey hoped to unlock the mysteries of turkey's third deepest caves. after all, it is what he does as a cave expert and researcher until he got sick, 3000 feet under the earth's surface. >> we can show that mark is okay. >> i am doing well. >> doing well maybe putting it lightly. dickey is suffering severe gastrointestinal bleeding and is in and out of consciousness and could not eat for three days. a doctor is with him in the cave and they

have been able to send messages to the surface. >> i need a lot of help to get out of here. >> fortunately that help is coming from all over the world. >> six countries involved with teams , 30 people in the cave on friday. >> reporter: just reaching dickey and his team is extremely tough . the cave is more than two empire state building's deep. rescuers are splitting the cave and seven parts, each with its own team stage in place. starting with the bulgarian team at the bottom, followed by rescuers from croatia, italy, poland, hungary, and turkey. >> i do know that the quick response of the turkish government to get to the medical supplies that i needed, in my opinion, save my life. >> reporter: even in ideal conditions it could take 15 hours for inexperienced caber to reach the service. this mission is far from ideal. it could take rescuers four days to complete. that is if dickey is feeling well enough to help out. >> there are very many vertical pitches within the cave, row after row after rope.

if he gets tired then he has to be hauled up those sections of rope. >> be take care of our own and it is really special. >> remarkably calm there, i should note. this story gives me anxiety thinking about this. doctors do think that sticky dickey is able to start that rescue process tomorrow. a popular rockclimbing area in yosemite is off-limits because of something that looks very unnerving in its own ght. this photo shows the problem. that is a new crack along a massive granite cliff. this is on the west side is what is called the royal arch is formation. there are not any signs that the rock is definitively going to collapse, but there are rock falls in yosemite every year. tonight, and australian race car driver is charged with killing an elderly couple in a bay area road. san mateo county prosecutors say luke 19 he was traveling along highway 84 last

weekend when a road closure forced him over to the left side of the road. then he forgot to move back over because the left side is where they drive in australia. he crashed head-on into another car with four people inside. the couple in their 80s sitting in the back was killed. the two people up front survived. they are said to go to trial in november on vehicular manslaughter charges. social media influence make a name for themselves by giving advice for all kinds of things. these days, that includes parenting. a mompreneur talk.famous online for giving tips on how to raise kids with tough love. but her advice was so shocking at times, it scared people. tonight, she is facing allegations she was way too tough with her own kids and it landed her in jail. >> reporter: even before her arrest, ruby frankie and her social media per videos providing strict parenting advice garnered a strong following and raised eyebrows. >> up until now, i was really hoping that keeping them home

from school and wiping the floorboards would really bring pain. >> reporter: some followers first expressed concerns three years ago with an online petition calling for an investigation into frankie. >> i told the kids, i am not going to let you we brought this until you do your chores. >> reporter: now the 41-year-old mother of six is facing criminal charges. she and jody hildebrandt who owns a relationship counseling business are accused of abusing and starving two of frankie's young children. >> the fact that these are charges related to abilities, not misdemeanors, goes to the idea that we are talking about serious physical harm to the children. >> the charges were filed after police had frankie's 12-year-old son that climbed out the window of the home and ran to a nearby house asking for food and water. the neighbor called 911. >> he has been detained. he

has obviously covered in wounds. >> reporter: authorities say the juvenile was emaciated and malnourished with open wounds and duct tape around the extremities. when police searched the home, they say they also found the 10-year-old daughter in a similar physical condition of malnourishment. on friday, frankie and hildebrand appear to be a video before a judge ordered them to remain in jail without bail. >> have you received a copy of the information in this case? >> yes. >> reporter: the two defendants said little and did not enter a plea. >> pretty disturbing story right there, that was carter evans reporting. another hearing for the woman is set for later this month. we hear a lot of stories about narcan saving people. the overdose reversing drug just gave this california puppy a second chance. san francisco is trying to rebrand its image, so what better way to do it they had taken to times square. >> people can do anything , even if it is hard.

some people just do not deserve dogs, like the southern california couple who let their eight week old puppy overdose on fentanyl. luckily, police in irvine were armed with the antidote. >> reporter: the eyes were kind of closing. >> the officers thought hey, let's use the narcan on the dock to see if that will help her out. sure enough, it did. they transferred the dog to the vet. >> police arrested the owners on drug and animal cruelty charges for the pup was exposed to fentanyl in the car in a walmart parking lot. that poor little baby is doing just fine tonight. a northern california fourth-grader with dreams of stardom will get her big break on broadway tomorrow. seventh and broadway to be exact. marlee ginter explains why she is getting a starring role on a times square billboard. >> grace garcia wants to be in the spotlight when she grows up your >> i want to be an actress.

>> reporter: she is getting her big break on broadway this weekend, appearing on the jumbotron in new york city's times square. >> it is pretty cool. i like being on tv. >> the 10-year-old girl performed with down syndrome and her picture is going to be featured on the big screen as part of an awareness campaign for the disease. >> i want them to look at my daughter and hopefully have hope to be able to see a little girl that can do pretty much everything that anyone else can do. >> her family is flying back to the big apple to see her debut firsthand. she is one of 500 people being shown during the saturday morning event as part of the kickoff for the national down syndrome society's annual buddy walk. >> times square is such an iconic place and having the kennedy up on the screen is a wonderful way to raise awareness. >> reporter: there has been a lot of progress made with down syndrome and just last few decades.

>> we are seeing folks included in sports teams. we are seeing folks go to college. we are seeing folks employed in their normal communities doing job. >> reporter: medical advancement continue to climb. >> if you look back at the mid-80s, people with down syndrome were living into their mid-20s. now, people with down syndrome are living into their 60s and 70s. >> though the time on the green screen may be brief, it may just be the start of a bright future. >> i want them to know that people can do everything, even if it seems hard, you just keep doing it. >> she is precious. meanwhile, the golden gate bridge is taking center stage in times square tonight. look at that. this digital ad from sf travel is running through the end of the month. it is part of the $6 million always san francisco campaign. the city launched an inmate late may to try and bring the visitors back. back here at home, when you walk into fiddler's green irish pub on the peninsula, it is obvious it is a family run business with lots of regulars. after three decades, they just opened up a second irish pub in

san carlos called molly all. the restaurant is on san carlos avenue. the weekend is a grand opening celebration for them. two irish fans are supposed to perform saturday and sunday. it will be open seven days a week and the menu has everything from fish and chips to corned beef sandwiches. working you find lobster,. tacos, candy apples, korean hotdogs and fried chicken in one place? in the south bay, specifically at the foodie land night market. there are more than 175 vendors and they don't just cater to food lovers, either. jocelyn moran got to try it out tonight. from lobster you can smell it all. >> perfect. you can keep going down the line. >> jeremy what came here from modesto after seeing foodie land was coming to san jose on instagram. >> i looked up some tickets and saw they were coming here

>> reporter: many are hearing about this through social media. it is also how people learn about some of the most popular vendors . big baby bottle was one that attracted many. >> we saw a lot of reels on their instagram. >> reporter: some vendors are out of town like los angeles. there are others that are local. >> san francisco, california, bay area! >> she has her own business called candy queen. it is her first time as a vendor. >> we always come to these places and feel like i don't have a chance. so, when i got approved to be a vendor i was like wow! >> reporter: she has a variety of suites including a strawberry shortcake caramel apple beer >> i use the word good to work because it is tailor-made. >> reporter: it is a time to spend chance with your friends and emily. for vendors, it is a chance to showcase what you put your work and heart into. >> opportunities like this really made me put my fears to the side and just go big. you

let's take a look what's happening. sunday is a good day if you can drive atv out of the patio outside. that will be a good idea. temperatures will be pleasant throughout the weekend. locally dense fog tonight we are looking out towards our camera. fog is not too widespread at the moment. a little bit warmer sunday and monday but it is a modest warm-up. that will be a near or below average temperatures the rest of next week. you can see that on the 10 day outlook for concorde. the warm-up setups to about 83, 94, 95 degrees above average. we are back down in the 80s and maybe even upper 70s. that is still be on the seven-day forecast. >> the salesforce tower in the bay bridge. things are moving along for the moment. temperatures in the 50s and 60s across the board. we will end up in the 50s everywhere by early saturday morning . that is going to be confined but it will be out there to begin the day on saturday. it does manage to push through the gaps in the inland valleys. it will not last long. a shallow layer of fog. it backs up to the coast. you are going to see it more sunshine than you did today.

into the 50s everywhere. low 50s for the north bay valleys but everyone else in the upper 50s. high temperatures tomorrow with a mid-degree or two on the side of normal. mid-60s along the coast. 60s and 70s along the baby mostly 80s and limpid warmer spots reaching up to about 90 degrees for solano county and contra costa county. if you're heading out to oracle park to watch the giants, try and win a winning streak against the colorado rockies. temperature is 6:05 tomorrow. it will still be heading off through the evening. if you are going to be heading out on sunday for opera in the park, golden gate park, temperatures look like they will be nice on sunday, reaching into the upper half of the 60s. that is not bad at all, with plenty of sunshine. temperatures warm up into the low 70s for downtown san francisco on monday. upper 70s for oakland and then right back onto that slightly below

average pattern. the warm-up will be a bit more noticeable for the inland valleys of north bay up to about 90. sin is a kind of harbors in the mid-80s. temperatures in the hotshots, low 90s for a couple of days in and around the 80s. the only real change you're going to notice is more sunshine sunday and monday and then the largely gray skies are going to be back. an hour of two of sunshine each day. so, soak up that sunshine while you can. >> i guess i won't be going outside on those days. >> you are right. >> that's true. thank you, paul. it is all about pride and one east bay city. we will tell you about the big celebration there this weekend. matt? >> coming up in sports, the $170 million man, nick lohse, spoke to the media for the first time since signing his record contract. maybe he will hire paul to be a personal chef. the giant sinful desperation mode, a policy that hasn't happened more than half a decade. why they needed it, next.

just a little while ago, giants fans got to see something pretty cool after the home game against the rockies. mlb put on its first game postgame drone show. it flying above oracle. they made it bay area and giants beamed animations. it is an alternative to postgame fireworks and we spotted it with one of our tower cams too,

which is how we were alerted to this. but that looks fun. >> yeah. that is pretty awesome. it looks a whole lot different than what the giants have been like . people are actually watching this team. it has been like a scary movie. now we are at that part where if you make one false move the worst possible outcome will happen. but basically, it is time for san francisco to end the six game losing streak, not old enough to watch any scary movies, they believe these kids got a foul ball instead. speaking of kids, the rookie, kyle harrison back on the bump tonight, not quite as dominant as his oracle park debut but still struck out five rockies batteries over five innings but he did give up three runs. so entering the six, giants trailed 4-0 but the bats got hot quick. wilmer florez, two run shot to left field. that gets the fans attention and instep submit can occur. someway, somehow he gets a bat on this ball, just catches enough barrel to leave the yard. so low shot emma makes it
