offers its full and unconditional support for russia's, quote, sacred fight to defend its security interest. hours earlier north korea fired two ballistic missiles toward the sea while kim was in russia. back home, five former memphis police officers are now facing charges of federal civil rights violations in connection with the beating death of tyre nichols. they earlier pleaded not guilty to state charges of second-degree murder. nichols died three days after he was beaten by police during a january traffic stop. the former officers were indicted on the federal charges yesterday in memphis. >> the charges allege that five former scorpion team detectives used excessive force resulting in the death of mr. nichols. >> the charges also include failure to intervene, conspiracy to witness tampering, and obstruction of justice. an escaped killer is still believed to be within a search perimeter in southeastern pennsylvania. danelo cavalcante has been on the run for nearly two weeks

now. nikki dementri reports on the latest sightings. >> reporter: danelo cavalcante who police say is armed with a .22 caliber rifle with a scope and a flashlight was spotted twice on monday night. >> we consider him desperate, dangerous. >> reporter: around 8:00 p.m. investigators say a driver spotted a man crouching near the road in eastern pennsylvania. shortly after, police found cavalcante's prison shoes, then around 10:10 p.m., cavalcante stole a firearm from a garage. the homeowner fired a pistol as him as he fled. last night police say pair of work boots were stolen from jim varnes' porch. >> that's where they were. they were on the back porch. sure enough they were missing. >> reporter: cavalcante was facing a life sentence for killing his ex-girlfriend whom he stabbed 38 times in front of her two young children. he has been spotted 14 times since he escaped from prison last month, but continues to evade law enforcement. >> still like this in a couple of days, people around here aren't going to sit by and let
