dead from apparent stab wounds and another woman was taken to the hospital. a man suffered injuries to his hands. officer chased the suspect who was fleeing in a stolen car which came to a finish three miles away on ninth. the suspect is now in jail. we spoke to a resident in the area who knew the woman that was killed. >> all of the neighbors are devastated. we all loved this neighbor very much. she was a artist, she made jewelry. we loved her. my son was home an he heard the scream. >> reporter: police say this was a targeted attack. businesses are threatening to go on strike if city leaders do not do something about crime. the mayor insists her administration is going as fast as it can. she and other leader listened to solutions today.

in that. if we look at the high resolution smoke forecast, tha is from a small fire, the quarr fire, right outside of yosemite. that is not our problem from a smoke standpoint. here is the smoke w pulled down from the northwest corner of the state. watch the onshore flow clear it out. already a good air quality in san francisco. let's go down the road one more day from tomorrow, on monday when the system responsible for turning the onshore flow back on gets here itself and that is bringin us rain on monday. that will deliver enough rain that it helps us in two ways. it puts a lot of rain on the fire which is burning up in the northwest corner of the state. if it doe not put it out completely it will certainly turn off the smoke production so it will not

be a problem for us anymore. let's watch this from a local perspective. what does the rainfall look like? we note thi will be a good rain producer fo the northwest coast. here in th bay we have a few light showers coming through tomorrow afternoon and evening. we get to midnight on monday going into tuesday, that is how far ahead we are looking. you can still trace the cold front. by the time it gets down to the golden gate we may get a few showers monday night going int tuesday and as it reaches the south bay it probably falls apart. if you look at the totals they are not impressive, 2-3 inches on the northwest coast of the state. it is not significant storm in that regar but it is the first rainmaker falling. we look at the daytim highs and we are still well below average. 7-8 degrees belo

average and across the forecas you see the chance of rain on monday, after that we clear things out and it will be relatively warm. the northbay valleys have the best chance fo rain. san jose does not even ge a drop in the seven day forecas from this. when we take a look at the inland east bay, the numbers will warm-up in the lo to mid 80s. i do not think you will get much rain there either but you will get a late drop monday. back to you. coming up, college footbal action, stanford looking to bounce back from last week.
