donchey. we start with the breaking news. driverless car crashed into a pedestrian there say massive and police fire response at 5th and market streets right now. we are live there for us. betty yu, i know you were working on an entirely different story when you heard about what happened here. can you tell us about what we are seeing and what we know that happened to this person? >> reporter: sara, as you can see there is a very active crime scene happening. an investigation just behind me. you can see part of 5th street near market the is roped off. the car that is involved in this collision is still here on the scene. if you fake a look that cruise car with the flashing lights that is a car that is involved. san francisco police said this happened around 9:30 this evening. officers arrived and they found the car struck an adult, a female adult, that is, no one was inside the cruise car at the time of the accident. now,

sf fire said that its crews had to secure the cruise car to free the victim. that victim was rushed to the hospital with traumatic injuries. now, it is unclear at this time, sara, exactly what happened in the moments right before this collision. as you can see there are several investigators and a heavy police and fire presence here at 5th and market. we will continue to bring you more updates as soon as we learn new details. >> yeah, right, betty, i know traumatic injuries can mean a lot of different things, we are hoping that person is okay. we did reach out to cruise. we will see what they have to say if they are able to get back to us. appreciate the live report, thank you very much. of course, this comes as a debate has been raging in san francisco for months about robo taxis and safety. last month the driverless cruise car and a fire truck collided near civic center. the firefighter at that scene said it did not yield to

the engine. the woman in the backseat of the car was taken to the hospital with nonsevere injuries according to cruise who said at the time they were investigating the crash, also. san francisco fire department is also complained about cruise cars getting stuck and blocking access to emergency scenes. some street safety advocates have been taking to coning cars, placing a traffic cone on them to stop them in their tracks, again, we did reach out to cruise for comment on what happened tonight. so far we have not heard back. we will continue to check and bring you that update when we get it. staying in san francisco and some video that is going viral tonight that has people asking, aren't their worse problems on city streets? now, the video shows a public works employee running over a hot dog vendor and knocking over his cart. but then they cleaned up the mess. other vendors were

there, too. >> at that time, like, i was in shock. i was obviously saying something to the guy that had did that to him because like i felt like it is rude for that to happen because he was just trying to make money. >> a love the vendors came up to me and they were like asking oh, can i see the video of what happened? hot dog vendors. i showed them. they told me that they are happy and glad that someone finally reported it. they said that had happened multiple times and they have no evidence of that. >> fortunate note here we reached out to san francisco public works who told us in a statement it is investigating this incident. as always, blue angels know how to make an entrance. if you were near oakland

international airport you probably heard them roar in. one of the pilots is making history this year when the team touched down the lieutenant was at controls of jet number 3. she is the very first woman to be a member of the blue angels demonstration squad. this big guy, he will be a part of the show. fat albert is the c-130t is the blue angels support craft that carries spare parts to the pilot's luggage. not just about who is up in the sky. two navy ships are in the bay and open for tours. but local kids got an early peek. we were in the middle of the action. >> reporter: the hoops with the troops event. one of the events kicking off fleet week. what better way to do it than coming from our community. they were invited to play basketball and

. when you think of scams, robo call comes to mind, right? or those emails that your companying trainings warn you about. but, now a apparently, you need to think about parking tickets. fake ones. scammers have been making parking tickets and they have been striking all over california. the better business bureau says they are making them with thermal printers. they will print qr codes for people to make payments faster and make the tickets look official. if you look at the ticket side by side they can be tough to spot the fake. >> not only are you paying a fake ticket. in a lot of cases you have given your private information, your credit card, you can get hit with another charge later on. >> that is the last thing everybody needs. in fact, some of the scammers go so far as to put the same qr codes on the fake tickets up on parking

kiosks so they look more official. the moral of the story, look before you pay. verify the ticket with the city that you received it in, check for misspellings or websites that seem sketchy. a close call in oakland this evening. a brush fire got close to multiple homes. this was near parker and outlook avenues, firefighters climbed up on top of one of the houses trying to fight this thing. they did a pretty good job. 50 firefighters helped get the fire out. they did it without any houses burning. the fire department posted that picture of a rainbow over the burn scar when they were mopping this up. this time of the year it is usually peak fire season. up in the north bay, one cal fire unit says this year they have seen the fewest number of fires and acres burned in the last decade the lake and napa county unit says less than 600 acres burped in their area. compare that to 2020, 413,000 acres burned in the same time period

in 2018, over 1eleven,000 acres burned in 2014, 12,000. wow. this is also when vineyard owners get nervous about fires threatening them and usually finishing up the harvest but it just started and expected to end in late november. a wet winter and a relatively cool summer delayed the ripening process giving them more time to prepare. >> the longer it is in there you are risking other stuff happening like fires or frost, you know. but we have been lucky so far. >> cross my fingers because we are not done with harvest. it has been the perfect harvest so far i would say. we have not, knock on wood, dealt with fires in this area where the smoke effected us. >> the late harvest means plump irvines with wineries saying they have grown more fruit. this kid is not old enough to drink but he can bake. he

side of the temperature roller coaster and settle into below average temperatures monday and tuesday. some of the long-range models hinting at a shower on monday night and tuesday. a long way down-the-line. low confidence in that scenario. with the warmer temperatures on the way, clear skies over head. the heat dome resulting in sinking air, surpressing any clouds, we will be in full alert generation mode for electricity. basically, at maximum capacity over the next couple of days likely through the end of the workweek. if you have solarpanels you will crank out enough juice. >> now, the fog creeping away. not as widespread. should be nonexistent by wednesday, thursday, friday mornings it is down to 51 degrees in santa rosa. and 54 in san francisco. everybody should end up in the 50s by early tomorrow morning and then we will warm up. let's take a look at where we end up

tomorrow, warmer than today. the numbers, they are only 3-5 degrees above average. lower to middle 80s in the santa clara valley. 84 degrees in san jose. that is 5 degrees above normal. free exphont on the peninsula. redwood city, temperatures in the east bay. some of the warmer locations. only hitting the upper half. staying below 90. temperatures inland in the north bay. while we are mostly in the 70s today, you will be in the 80s tomorrow. into the lower 80s. not as warm as other inland parts ever the pay area. you as well will be up to or above 90 degrees later on this week. let's take a look at the seven-day forecast. we will bring that in. hit the wrong button. now, showing you what the trend is. it is quite a ride for inland parts of the bay area into the lower to
