strengthened from a tropical storm to a category 5 hurricane in 12 hours, slamming onto shore in acapulco as the strongest storm on record to hit mexico's pacific coast. how scary is that? that video shows the moment otis ripped through a house, and you hear the man in spanish yelling at the other people to get inside the bathroom as the rain pelts them and the wind pelts them inside their home. and this shows a part of the aftermath. and even the sports stadium completely inundated. what looked like a condo building ripped to shreds, that's how they came to us, but we wanted to show it to you to give you an idea on how difficult it is going to be to get people out of there. and where some people are flying in

storms. and just a satellite perspective when it was getting organized as a tropical storm and it develops not just into a hurricane, but the category 5 storm as it hit acapulco last night. this is the first storm to hit this part of the pacific to make history. but you look at the whole life cycle, which is what we call an area of investigation, which strengthens to a tropical storm and tropical depression. and the problem is what happens so quickly from a tropical storm to it a hurricane to that category 5 hurricane, it set records in terms of 12-hour intensification. it's the second strongest 24-hour intensification on record. and the real problem is the global forecast models did not handle this one very well. so it
