news with sara donchey. hello, i'm sara donchey. walking around downtown san francisco it felt like you were in another city entirely. washington, d.c. is the closest thing that comes to mind. it was because we were seeing things like this. the president of the united states states with windows down. he was coming from a fundraiser at the merchant exchange. right outside, protesters faced off with the police. they marched from market street until they got as close as they could to where the president was. one protester told us she voted for biden in 2020 but his stance on this changed her mind. >> i will not vote for him even if it means trump wins. >> what happened inside and

outside of the building betty yu shows us it was hard to argue that san francisco was not the center of attention tonight. the motorcade holding president bidden and kamala harris, drove down the street this evening and the governor attended the merchant exchange building. rush hour traffic came to a stand still. inside the ball room on the 15th floor, biden, harris, newsom gave speeches and mingled with dignitaries, donors and politicians. staffers closed windows to drowned out the pro-palestinian protest happening below. officers in riot gear formed a blockade at montgomery and california >> i am palestinian, this is wrong. we are people. we deserve human rights, demand a seize fire and demand the end

after their mother was hit by a car on highway 280. they were found wondering, now they are safe in the zoo hospital and very, very cute. the sisters are believed to be 6-10 weeks old and are underweight, six pounds each, luckily they are in relatively good health all things considered. the zoo will take care of them until the sisters find a permanent home. yes, even though i am more of a dog person they are cute. paul, i imagine your message is going to be, i know you are also an animal person, that you want to keep your pets inside for at least part of the day tomorrow because it could be raining? >> get out for a walk early in the day before the rain arrives. if it is your household dog or apec predators we just showed. we will look towards downtown including the laser light display shining from the ferry building straight down-market street. just an interesting view of downtown, different than normal. but, majority of the rain fell

in north bay. let's concentrate on that part of the bay area. picking up an inch of rainfall today. so, it did not rain in your neighborhood there were parts of the area wet for much of the day. just over 4/10th of an inch of rain. right on the coast and under 4/10th of an inch in santa rosa. in the north bay. hit-or-miss. a few hundreds of an inch. now, switching perspectives and get the other view of the beam of light as we check out what you need to know heading out through the next several days. we will stay dry tonight and likely through the first half of wednesday. the next wave of rain will move in. it will continue through the rest of the week and the first half of the weekend. despite the waves of rain showers, the temperatures will still be on the mild side. a couple degrees above average. let's check out the doppler. the bulk of the rain, remaining the case through the rest of

tonight. future cast is trying to develop a couple of showers to begin the day tomorrow. i think they will be few and far between. here is the wave of heavier rain and spreading across the bay area as we head through the rest of wednesday afternoon. this forecast model tends to over do the intensity. you think it is going to pour cats and dogs, buckets of rain. it will be light to moderate rainfall. about as widespread as you are seeing but the intensity is over due. going through the day on thursday as this unsettled pattern continues, dry breaks through much of thursday. it will not be a dry day. there will be more showers moving from south to north as everything rotates around. locally gusty winds arvetion long the coast.

25-30 mile-an-hour gusts there middle afternoon. farther inland, wet roads, gusty winds, that is a recipe for a longer than normal commute even before you factor in the apec side of all of the traffic concerns that we have as we go through the day tomorrow. checking on current temperatures, dropping back in the 50s. not a lot of variation, a mix of 40s and 50 degree plus temperature pattern around the bay and along the coast by early tomorrow morning. and topping out and they are going to be about 5 degrees above average. san jose and morgan hill, 71 degrees, warm spots on the map tomorrow afternoon. for the most part, talking middle to upper 60s. does not matter if you are around the bay or farther inland, the temperatures running a couple degrees above normal. 60s on the coast and half-moon bay. getting close to 70 degrees in san francisco and oakland. for the north bay, not much variation there, temperatures reaching up into the middle to upper 60s tomorrow afternoon. which is close to or a little above what is normal for middle

november. as we look at the seven-day forecast, we will see this off and on rain pattern with widespread rain, showers on thursday and more widespread rain likely on friday into friday night and then lingering showers on saturday. it looks like good travel weather locally and the dry weather should stick around not just through the thanksgiving holiday but it keeps the dry weather through the holiday weekend. we are monitoring the rain chances over the next several days. >> it will be important to watch. we will check in with you paul, especially when you are sleeping and it is your night off.
