ditched the car and left the scene. they also left the police without a clue as to where he is. a food truck worker was robbed in the fruitville district. he was shot while chasing the thief. >> reporter: worker say robberies are pretty common. what was unusual is one of the victims chased the robbers who had a rifle and a handgun. the victims were working in this food truck when two gunmen stormed in and demanded money. they describe that traumatic experience through a translator. >> i was afraid and terrified. >> she asked us to protect her identity. she said the gunmen took the money and repeatedly hit her husband.

>> they started getting frustrated because there wasn't enough money. >> her husband and son got in the car to follow the robbers to try and write down the license plate number. she said the gunman fired at least 15 shots from the moving car on davis. one bull pierced the windshield and hit her husband in the shoulder. doctor say it may be more dangerous to remove the bullet. and said there was an object that is hurting him. we can't do nothing about it . >> she and her husband were also frustrated because of the repeated robberies and burglaries targeting small businesses on foothill boulevard in the fruitville district. the late chef, anthony boardgame once featured it on his show thing

96 years ago jimmy carter's mother helped her next-door neighbor deliver a baby girl. batgirl was roselyn smith. 18 years later , she married the boy next door. it would of course be elected president. when her husband was in office, mrs. carter became known as one of the most politically active first ladies in u.s. history. including her years of work advocating for mental health care. as well as decades of work for her husband. they were here helping to build new townhomes at a habitat for humanity. earlier this year, we visited one of the homes they worked on, alongside one of the homeowners. she showed us attribute to them hanging by the front door.
