>> this year and every year we could down a christmas tree in the santa cruz mountains, from one of those years, this is the year that my dad proposed to my mom, and he was dressed as santa when he did at 2 am. >> reporter: samantha's dad passed away. to honor him she decorated this memorial tree, one of more than 500 trees at the festival that make up its enchanted forest. a program allowing groups to decorate and display a christmas tree at the event all month long. >> being able to bring them back to my life in different ways throughout the year has been really nice to be able to incorporate him in my everyday lives, i wear rings to remind myself of him but being able to see with the public and also it has been really nice. >> reporter: samantha said it's been different coming to christmas the park without her dad, but she is thankful to be able to honor him at the event he cherished so much. she has now taken the torch from him,

♪ an update tonight and a heartbreaking story out of san jose. police just arrested a mother on murder charges after her infant daughter died of fentanyl poisoning. 28-year-old kelly richeson was arrested in san jose, her 18-month-old daughter was found dead in august, please say she had a lethal amount of fentanyl and her blood, the child's father is already in custody, police say they found videos and photos finding both parents smoking narcotics while holding their baby. we have seen plenty of retail theft bus, worth tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, this is on another

but noticeably breezy at some higher elevations tonight. let's take a look at wind speeds as we head through the rest of the night. highest gusts in the highest elevations in the mountains and the diablo range. not nearly as gusty is 40-50+ gus that we had early this morning. the winds will gradually calm down as we head to the first half of the day tomorrow and by tomorrow afternoon the wind would not be that noticeable, it takes a tomorrow night into early sunday morning, overnight is the gusty is conditions in the highest elevations around the bay area. not going to have a major impact. wind is still going to be offshore in the development, anything more than a couple passing clouds today. dry weather pattern continuing into early next week. storm system entering the picture by the beginning of next week, doesn't get close to the coast until the middle, that's when the rain chances are going to go up. but a lot of uncertainties running the next rainmaker. >> clear skies tonight and tomorrow, passing clouds tomorrow night and early sunday

of degrees below average, -- above average, and low to mid 60s across the entire bay area. similar to the temperature distribution we had in the day, a 4 degree difference, 61 degrees cool, and warmest around 65 degrees. mid 60s in a pretty widespread basis of the north bay, downslope offshore wind, rose up as a goes downhill, better chance of getting 264 or sisti 5 degrees. tomorrow, very similar temperatures as we head through the rest the forecast, take a look at the 74 -- outlook, eight sunny stretch, here's where things get more interesting, a chance of showers beginning wednesday, continuing thursday and friday. it's not going to range of those days but we can't narrowed it down at this point , which days most likely to be the wettest, the long-range data is all over the pays -- place, showers possible wednesday, thursday and friday, i would not rearrange or
