waymo robotaxi on fire. it happened saturday night in chinatown. waymo told us the fire started when someone threw a fire cracker into the car. more potential tech layoffs at san jose based cisco. reuters reports the company plans to cut thousands of jobs this week as part of a plan to restructure its business model. cisco told us in a statement they do not comment on rumors and speculation. all right, let's go to first alert weather now. we are already looking ahead to the next stretch of wet weather that could impact our presidents' day weekend. a lot of folks have ski breaks next week. darren peck is in our virtual studio. when will the rain start? >> reporter: it depends on which one we're talking about, liz. the rain will actually start wednesday. there is light rain that comes in for wednesday and thursday. but the rain you were just talking about, the stuff that impacts the weekend and becomes likely a lot more impressive. that's the stuff that gets here from
3:04 pm
saturday and then just about all the way through much of next week. there will be breaks, but several different storms lining up that looks like they could bring widespread heavy amounts of rain for us. let's take a look outside today because today and tomorrow, nothing is happening. it's a hazy looking view out there. we're going to see fog developing again tomorrow. so one item to discuss first at least in terms of tuesday morning, patchy fog, dense fog advisories this morning for north bay communities and inland east bay. we're probably going to do that again tomorrow. so just start thinking ahead for your tuesday morning commute that will likely be a bit foggy. look ahead to the first system. we can already see wednesday's rainmakers lining up out in the pacific. that one sits off the coast by late tomorrow night. there's a lot more back here. we'll start looking at these in a second. but what we're looking at now, a closer one for that and we'll time this one out for you now. we'll watch the wednesday time frame as the showers arrive. they
3:05 pm
start working their way across the north bay here for wednesday afternoon. then taking us through wednesday evening, we'll be looking at widespread showers that will stay with us through the duration of wednesday. that's what it looks like in this seven-day forecast. plenty of rain on here. there's wednesday, where we see our showers come in. it will stay with us on thursday with perhaps a few light showers. then we get to friday with a little bit of a break in the action. so likely this will be your chance really to start making sure gutters are cleared in your neighborhood. because the rain coming in saturday and sunday. this one right here the same storm could deliver us anywhere from about 2 to 3 inches in the north bay, maybe an inch and a half for just about everywhere else. so that's quite a rainy system. it's not like it is more intense than any storm we've seen already or necessarily as bad, but it is certainly likely going to be close. details will become clear over the next few days as you get closer to it.
3:06 pm
it's not the only one. even if monday doesn't appear to be in a break, it's too early with these systems to try to time out specifically. just where those breaks will happen because there is another system that's coming in fast on the tails of that one that will come in for early next week. then stays with us really through much of the middle of next week. so it's a developing situation. just know things will get active. back to you. >> a lot could happen. thank you. well the 49ers and the fans are making their way back home after the super bowl in las vegas. the team touched down at san jose airport about half an hour ago. and it was a tough loss against the chiefs in the final seconds of overtime. but members of the faithful are standing by their niners. some are even there to greet them. one waving a flag as the team got off the plane and onto buses. more fans are waiting to welcome them back at levi's stadium. a lot of 49er fans made the trip to las vegas to watch the super bowl. we caught up with some of them also

3:08 pm
game winning touchdown pass to hardiman and now the second time in five years that the niners have lost to the chiefs on the biggest stage. >> how much does it hurt? >> oh man, anybody got a nail he could step on? probably about that much. >> i've been playing football since late july. to come up short of a goal of a dream, it's not fun. i don't care how you lose when you lose super bowls, especially ones you think you could pull off. it hurts. when you're in the nfl, every one of them should hurt. we've gotten pretty close, but we haven't pulled it off, and we're hurting right now, but we'll recover, and we'll be back next year strong. >> reporter: you can just hear in the players voices and by their attitude how painful and how much this one hurts. they came so close. there's obviously some leftovers from that super bowl liv roster that we're hoping to finally avenge themselves. it's not going to happen this year and they are still intact, and they could be

back here next year. guys, back to you. >> absolutely. they're a phenomenal team. fans cheering on the niners, went through a lot of highs and lows as the game played out. kelsi thorud got some of their reactions as the overtime loss began to sink in. well, it was such a tough night for all the niner fans who were out here in vegas to watch the super bowl in person. so many of them were hoping the team would pull it out in the end. even though it didn't end as they hoped, all of the 49er faithful really showed up here. allegiant stadium behind me was rocking throughout the game. there were so many more niner fans inside that stadium than the kansas city chiefs fans. every single time they got a critical third down, that place erupted. that's why it was even more heartbreaking for all the fans in the stands when the niners couldn't pull out the
3:10 pm
win in the end. we talked with so many fans right when the game ended. so many tears. so much heartbreak, so much shock really. here is just a few of the fans that we spoke with. >> how are you feeling about this loss? >> not great at all. >> is this your first super bowl? >> yes. >> how was it otherwise? >> great. >> we thought we had it, but we didn't. >> i think they could turn it around and come back again. i felt that way. >> got to get past those chiefs. >> yeah. >> they're rough, they're rough, but go niners. >> go niners. >> reporter: and the one thing that was the light in this is that so many of the niner faithfuls that we spoke with said they still really enjoyed coming out here to vegas for the super bowl. this was the first super bowl in las vegas, and it was really a success.
3:11 pm
niner fans from across the world came out here. we spoke to fans from australia, canada, from across the u.s. so the one thing that i think fans are taking away from this and the team should also take away the faithful remained strong, and they are still very confident in their team moving forward. faithful yesterday and faithful today. across the bay area back here at home, fans packed into watch parties wherever they could find a little bit of space. hopeful to celebrate what would have been the ultimate victory. bars in the mission and the south bay at san pedro square in san jose. >> i definitely thought they were going to pull it off, but i understand being in that end all, be all moment, and not being able to make the play that needed to be made. at the end of the day, you have to live with that decision and go home and try harder next year. hopefully we're back. >> it's hard. but you know what, life goes on.
3:12 pm
>> so the way it all played out, i mean i hope we're back here. let's go at it again next year. >> the faithful still expressing pride and optimism for their team. meanwhile the super bowl host committee is looking ahead as well. they held their super bowl handoff ceremony this morning. super bowl 59 will be in new orleans. super bowl 60 at levi's stadium in 2026. it will go by like that. still ahead sweet talk that could make you a victim this valentine's day. the warning from the fbi. plus a bay area city trying to prevent wildfires. how they're focusing - [narrator] at kpix, we're taking weather to the next level. - we can show not just what's happening at ground level, but we can show what's happening in the upper levels of the atmosphere. let's lift the clouds off of ground level and talk... - it really spotlights how unique the geography is here. - it's dynamic. it's different. as i lift this, you can actually see it in real-time.

well valentine's day is right around the corner. while many people are turning to dating apps to find love, the fbi is sounding the alarm on romance scams. we spoke to one agent who told us the red flag to look for. >> the romance scam is when somebody, a person meets online, attempts to develop the relationship for the purpose of essentially stealing money. we will see somebody who pretends to be located in a remote region who will be based on the remote region will make plans
