. >> plus, why and oakland business owner says she has no choice but to shut down one of her shots for good. >> cars on the highway for good, it is a question that's pitting neighbor against neighbor. >> it has been more than three days since fbi agents carried boxes from the home of oakland mayor, sheng thao. we are still waiting to hear from her and from investigators. >> that led a small group of her most outspoken critics tonight to rally outside oakland city hall. kevin kyle has that story. >> reporter: oakland city hall is closed, as usual, on this sunday. the small rally that took place just behind me, right outside of city hall focused on the ongoing silence from oakland mayor, sheng thao pick >> she has not said a word since federal agents raided her home on thursday. >> reporter: but, attendees, organizers, and oakland residents say her silence speaks volumes.

>> where are you, sheng thao? >> reporter: about 20 people at sunday's rally outside oakland city hall demanded to know where the town's highest-ranking official is. sheng thao's lawyer, tony brass, told us on friday that she is still performing her mayoral duties, just not from home. which was raided by fbi agents on thursday. is still unclear what is being instigated, but several boxes were seized through a search warrant. sheng thao's lawyer also says it is unclear if the mayor is even the primary focus of whatever the fbi and irs are instigating. >> lawyers you pay them, and anything for you but is she a part of an invitation or the primary target? i would agree with that statement , but she's definitely an important part of that investigation. the fbi, the irs, postal inspectors

don't just show up to anyone's house. it is beyond local, regional, or state. >> reporter: edward escobar was one of the organizers of sunday's rally, which included critics of tal, including organizer seneca scott. >> reporter: throughout the rally, chants demanding sheng thao's resignation were repeated. that includes longtime oakland resident , patricia, who was a part of the black panther party and has lived in the town for most of her life. >> i would rather be in west oakland, living on the streets, homeless, with my people, trying to make something for us as a people. >> reporter: that is why she stood side-by-side with others, demanding her mayor speaks up. >> you know, sheng thao has been missing in action , and it's her job and she needs to show up for work. >> reporter: the rally also focused on other aspects of her time in office, including the

city budget. sheng thao's lawyer says she will provide a statement at some point this week. >> reporter: we asked mayor thao's attorney for additional comment, but no response. a fashion business we have reported on in the past says crime is forcing them to close up shop. it is an offshoot of her flagship store on broadway which remain open. business owner taylor j held a closing celebration today, thanking her customers , and saying goodbye. last month, somebody broke in and took over $10,000 worth of merchandise. >> he didn't have a mask on or anything, so it was very intentional, very much like i don't really care. it didn't make sense for us to have more lakins and take more losses here. it just didn't make sense. >> on easter sunday, her store was burglarized for $20,000 in losses.

a wild scene on the bay bridge overnight, people shooting off fireworks during a sideshow. you can see cars blocking the eastern span of the bridge while spectators watched on. police broke it up about 20 minutes after the first reports came in and have arrested at least three people. in other news, state lawmakers worked this weekend to reach a deal with governor some on california's new budget, which includes across-the-board cuts of about 8% to close the $48 billion deficit the state was facing, including 16 billion in cuts to housing, education, and state prisons. the rest of the state all shortfall will be made up by taking 12 billion out of the emergency fund and 13 billion for additional revenue sources as well as delaying or deferring over 5 billion in payments period the plan also takes 385 millions from prisons atop of previous cuts, more

than $1 billion from affordable housing, and 5 1/2 billion for schools. healthcare workers also took a hit. a raise to their minimum wage will not happen until at least october. the university of california says it will not submit a proposal to san francisco for a new campus to be built downtown, saying it would just be to expenses. they were one of several schools mayor breed reached out to last year, asking them to open a campus to fill empty real estate in the area. it is one of several ongoing projects the city is undertaking to try and revitalize downtown. they were also in talks with historically black colleges and universities to open a satellite campus downtown. people in san francisco will decide this november if cars should be banned from the great highway on oceanfront park, for which no funding

exists. but, if it passes, goodbye to three miles of the four lanes of the great highway from lincoln way to skyline boulevard. the original drive was to shut down the road during the pandemic to give people space to roam around but now some people wanted permanently shut again with no funding. >> you have a destination where the park that is, for westside and ocean beach is capable of. >> it would create more health and safety issues that people are getting hit by cars all the time and why should it be closed during the week, when nobody uses it? >> reporter: if past, drivers would turn off at lincoln drive and funnel through sunset boulevard , the great highway

is already closed on weekends at this point. it appears enough supervisors support the measure to get it on the ballot but if groceries weren't expensive enough, the price of a avocados could be going up. the reason? avocado imports from mexico were stopped for a week over safety concerns. >> max are reports. >> reporter: weather at talk delicious in downtown palo alto or one of their three other locations in san francisco and los angeles, they go through a lot of avocados . >> 1000 or so avocados. 90% of the volume of these avocados are going to molly. >> reporter: if there is a problem with supply, fernando guzman says they feel it. last week there was a problem in mexico's main avocado domain . according to a memo from u.s. ambassador to mexico, ken salazar, to usda employees were assaulted and attained while inserting avocados in the region. they have since been

released, but the u.s. has stopped avocado inspections for a week. it wasn't until friday that salazar said inspections will begin to gradually resume. >> it will be a good amount of time before we see the market normalize again. >> i wouldn't be surprised if they were a bit more expensive in some markets and not others. >> reporter: professor daniel sumner is an economics professor at uc davis but he says we could see price rises at the market. >> they are rationing this disruption. >> reporter: but he doesn't think this scenario will impact consumers when dining out much, if at all. it will, however, impact restaurants. >> certainly, people in business have already noticed and made their plans and are already making their adjustments. >> reporter: guzman says adjustments at his restaurant will not include raising prices. he says they are

bracing for thinner margins, and in this case, it is just the cost of doing business. >> people still enjoy the avocado toast and guacamole. >> reporter: he says, charging more for it is not how they do business. >> we have never raised our prices when avocado prices go up. >> reporter: this all comes as avocado prices were already on the rise. according to produce iq, an online marketplace for fresh produce, avocado prices were up during the first week of june because volume from mexico was down in the meantime, ambassador salazar plans to visit later this week, meeting with the governor and other leaders to discuss issues. tonight at 11:00, how glide memorial's new pastor is continuing the legacy of stossel williams, while adding his own style. the stern grove concert series kicked off today in seven cisco, we have all the highlights and a look at the upcoming season, when we come back.

doing, darren? >> i'm doing good. we have our hands full in terms of what is coming our way this week. there is a 10% chance of understands on tuesday. the first thing we have to do is get you ready for monday. the most important aspect of monday is , what is the marine layer doing? we will use it on the virtual set, this is high-resolution forecast imagery taking is ahead now for 7:00 a.m. this will not be a particularly strong onshore surge. but, if you look back at the marine layer, there is a pattern to these clouds but they are certainly coming in over the city tomorrow. that is nothing new. they will work their way through the golden gate and look at where they are going. that is napa valley up there, and looked over towards sonoma, we will probably see a few clouds filtering into the petaluma gap tomorrow, but you can see clouds working their way into napa and this will be 7:00 a.m. tomorrow. everyone else starts out with relatively clear skies, but that does not mean you don't still treat the benefits of the return of this onshore influx. look at those

numbers behind me, especially for the inland valleys, you are cooler tomorrow. concord and livermore, you're not getting clouds, you're not waking up to june gloom, but you are still getting the onshore influence. the cool air will get there. it's not a cold snap, but we will get you down to the low 90s tomorrow. meanwhile, look at seven cisco, look at oakland, half moon bay up there, front and center. those numbers are identical, tomorrow, to what you did today. this is pretty much the same extent of the marine layer that we've had for the last two mornings. so, nothing changes here . this guy will look the same, the day is going to feel the same, and the numbers will pretty much be identical in terms of how you are going to feel. let's talk about a couple of other things, using the forecast imagery over my shoulder. you might remember there were headlines, five days ago, about tropical storm alberto, which had been moving across mexico and parts of texas . alberto is no more, but the leftover ingredients are still there, and they are getting caught up in the flow, believe it or not, that will route some of it our way. you

can see the clouds up there, let's take a closer look at this. we will watch that again you're going to see all of a sudden on tuesday afternoon, just going to turn on like that, and yes, there are showers, and maybe an occasional thunderstorm mixed in. there is a 10% chance that when we get to this point in time , let's bring it back to the most likely time, this is tuesday, late morning to early afternoon. this is the high-resolution rapid refresh, it is now able to go out through tuesday, so we have the best model to visualize outcomes on tuesday. there is not a lot to that, but in light of the fact that we know where the landscape stands in terms of dry grasses and finer fuels, a 10% chance of thunderstorms needs to be watched closely. we are telling you about it now, just in case this happens to play out, since you don't get the impression it came out of nowhere. we have been seeing this for the last day in terms of small chance. we will keep talking about it no matter what, but certainly if the odds

to pass the rule change after more than 7600 congregations chose to disaffiliated from the united methodist church. a quarter of all unc congregations in the u.s. here in seven cisco, blank memorial church broke away from methodist in 2020 over a financial dispute. while the former denomination plays catch-up in this category, glide has long served as a haven for people across the spectrum of sexuality. that legacy continues, with its new leader, who has some historic shoes to fill. >> reporter: song and spirit filled the air at glide memorial church as the reverend takes the stage with his

inclusive sermons but he is continuing his predecessor's tradition of welcoming with unconditional love and doing it with his own twist. >> i always say you're not sessile. or, you are the next sessile cecil. and i went to cecil and i said, what do i do with this? and he's like, he said, you have to be you. >> reporter: one of his first acts as the new leader of glide, he chose to hoist the pride flag directly outside of the century, a first for the historic congregation in the heart of san francisco's tenderloin. >> the other part is that i have been on a campaign to make sure that beauty and aesthetics are a part of unconditional love, and how we serve community. if we don't have a building that people are proud of, then we went be the community anger the people need. >> reporter: he is doing just that through the lens of his up ringing as a member of a religion that he knew could not accept him for being , but with a longing for a spiritual home. >> i went from staying away from church, to chasing boys

away from churches and told not to stay in this church is because my freedom would put their freedom at risk. all of that was created so i would never come into my power as a black, clear , prophetic believer , with a particular kind of access to the divine. >> reporter: he applies that story to his practice, using himself as an example of why the church should welcome with unconditional love. >> when the church runs out, they are saying, you will be too powerful, and i can never have you get close to your power , and we believed it, wholesale. and we -- when they ran as out we didn't come back. what an amazing thing it would be of this world could benefit queer folks .

that is teagan and sarah getting the stern grove festival started today in seven cisco. thousands of people came out to see the canadian indie pop sister duo. >> tickets are completely free. the crowd stretching far back into the eucalyptus trees that surround the growth. they could not have asked for better weather, today, to enjoy the music festival. >> i love teagan and sarah and friendship. we have been this is probably my favorite place to see music and seven cisco. >> teagan and sarah are twin sisters from calgary. they have been writing songs together since they were teenagers in the 90s. >> we have been getting educated on stern grove and this initiative to be able to give free music to people in the bay area. $100 million over this whole process of funding,
