liz neeley: you know, you've probably heard it said that some people have to hit rock bottom before they really come to the lord and give him their life. and that's what happened. i probably had a lot of anxiety at that point about my future, but as i began to study the word and a lot of dr. stanley's teachings and sermons, i began to realize that, through the love of jesus, god saved me for a purpose. it's friday, june 28th, 2024. this is "cbs news mornings." high-stakes showdown. joe biden's raspy voice, donald trump's falsehoods. the current president and the former president duke it out on the debate stage, but did their performances land any blows? indicted. uvalde's former school police

surrogates including the vice president making an acknowledgment that this was not a great performance for president biden. but really trying to pivot and say look at his track record, look at what he's done over the past 3.5 years for the country, and also trying to point out some of the falsehoods from former president trump. although that's going to be more difficult to try and play when it comes to politics with the american people who might move past this. republicans are trying to hit home this is an example of why they say president biden should not be in office, saying that he is mentally not capable of holding office after november. we'll have to wait and see whether this moves the needle especially for swing voters who still have a couple of month before they cast their ballots. >> jarred hill in atlanta. thank you. while as mentioned people across the country and world are reacting to the debate including at watch parties in battleground states like nevada and arizona. >> you see what people who are

idaho is one of six states with restrictive laws that do not include any exceptions for a woman's health beyond saving her life, and idaho doctors can be charged with a felony if they violate it. since the law was enacted two years ago, one-fifth of the state's practicing obstetricians have left idaho. >> to have our kind of flip-flopping of how we practice is very hard for us, and i want to make it clear -- this doesn't mean we're going to get fined, it's five years in prison. >> reporter: the biden administration had sued idaho to expand access, pointing to a federal law requiring hospitals to provide stabilizing care in health emergencies, care that could include abortion. also, the justices threw out a multibillion dollar bankruptcy settlement with the manufacturer of oxycontin that would have provided $6 billion for treatment and programs to combat the opioid crisis, including $750 million to victims and their families in exchange for
