11:18 pm
today. it comes with a cost. let's look at the actual watches and warnings in effect now across the entire country. you see a little green showing up. that is in the vicinity of the park fire, a flash flood watch in effect around the burn scar because there's concern some of those showers could be just heavy enough to lead to the potential for some debris flows or localized flash flooding without any vegetation. it's been burned out. that slows down the rate at which the water is flowing and farther into nevada the pink-shaded areas are red flag warnings. they're getting the wind without the beneficial moisture. it is having a very beneficial impact, especially for oregon and washington. we'll drop the national map out and look at how things are going to evolve a little closer to home and talk about the chance of showers that will try to sneak down towards the north bay tomorrow. we'll see plenty of cloud cover heading through tonight into early tomorrow morning. any chance of a shower is going to be confined to
11:19 pm
either the coast in the form of mist or drizzle, a few freckles showing up on the radar simulation. the bulk of the actual rain is mostly staying to our north. this is probably the most accurate forecast model we have to rely on. you see it fizzles the rain out as it tries to approach northern sonoma county, northern napa county. if that system jogs closer, that would bring a chance of showers to portions of the north bay, not much more than a couple hundredths of an inch of rain, but even that's worth noticing in august. let's talk about our temperatures which are going to be dropping a little bit more heading through the rest of tonight, but a lot of cloud cover, even making its way farther inland. that is going to help keep temperatures from dropping too much farther. we're in the low to mid-60s. we'll have a mix of 50s and 60s early tomorrow morning and we won't warm up much from there. today we had 30

plus-mile-an-hour gusts, strongest gusts tomorrow likely 15 to 20 miles an hour. let's look at our forecast highs tomorrow which rise only into the 70s inland, mid-70s in the santa clara and inland in the east bay, these numbers about a dozen degrees below normal for this time of year. temperatures around the bay, a mix of 60s and 70s and the north bay only the low 70s because of the thicker cloud cover and the outside chance of a couple showers. quick check of the seven-day forecast, the other side of the coin, temperatures rising a lot by early next week, flirting with 100 degrees inland monday and tuesday and backing down to closer to average by the end of next week, which is also the end of august. temperatures around the bay getting up to the low 80s a couple days. looks like monday and tuesday are the warmest days for the entire bay area. even along the coast the warm-up will be somewhat noticeable, low 70s monday and tuesday. >> thanks, paul. coming up in sports, one more day until the 49ers
