11:16 pm
the below average temperature for the last several days and now that storm system is moving further and further off to the east dragging that cooler than normal area with it and the marine level before the break, all that fog really spreading out and the marine layer will be compressed more and more with the atmosphere on top of us as we head to the next few days and that is part of what is going to warm us up. that's further down the line. right now, well, we have cloud cover moving into the santa clara valley but no fog and reaching all the way down almost to ground level as we look towards downtown san francisco. we can see it from treasure island and temperatures backing down. now mixed to 50s and low 60's. not much variation. 54 in santa rosa to 61° in san jose and in oakland and in concord. temperatures end up in the 50's pretty much across the board by early tomorrow morning so not much variation there either. we'll start off with similar sky conditions or a lack of the view of the sky across the bay area as the fog is going to
11:17 pm
push far across the bay and well into the inland valleys by early tomorrow morning. either you wake up with fog at ground level, or at least the base of the clouds 100 feet off the ground. either way gray skies to start the day and inland we'll look at that fog and it is graduating back to the coast as we head towards midday tomorrow. temperatures are going to warm up to a slightly greater extent than they did today, but some of the warmest spots in the map up to the mid 80's and only low 80's in the santa clara valley and 80° in san jose. temperatures only reach up into the middle portion of the 80's in antioch and fair field and looking at the warmest spots staying well below 90°. temperatures in san francisco and oakland staying in the upper 60's and low 70's. a few degrees below normal. and temperatures in the north bay also dropping down into the or rising up only to the upper 70s and low 80'ses by tomorrow -- low 80's by tomorrow afternoon and that's still a couple of degrees below average. we'll change on sunday with slightly above temperatures and then warmth arides.
11:18 pm
we alluded to one really warm day in san francisco. we'll start with temperatures there near average on sunday and then big spike of temperatures on monday ask backing down already on tuesday. we don't completely lose that onshore influence, but temperatures further away from the water are going to be warmer, hotter and for longer. a couple of days in the low to mid 90s in san jose and even with the temperatures retreating to the 80's, average high in san jose is around 80° and stay with that in the duration of last week and into september and the little more with the high temperature about 84-85°, we're going to be above 245 on saturday and flirting with 100° and once temperatures cool down wednesday through the following weekend, still running 3-7° above average. look at the 7 day forecast. we'll even everything out and the inland temperatures in the 80's for a couple more days and farther into the 80's on saturday and then 90's with the hottest spots on monday even getting close to 100°, but then retreating to the 80'ses at least by wednesday and thursday. above average but not
11:19 pm
ridiculous really in september. temperatures in the bay low to mid 80os sunday and monday and tuesday and closer to what's normal and the warmest days on the coast will be that warm because we won't have that strong onshore wind to push the 80° air to the coast. but mid70os monday and that's a warm spell for coastal parts of the bay area. we'll get rid of that persistent fog and mist and drizzle after tomorrow and a little more sunshine breaking through on the coast as well. >> all right, paul. thank you so much. at least 8 fire fighters were hurt when the truck rolled over on the highway near irvine tonight. chp said orange county fire engine swerved to avoid hitting something in the road and then hit the guard rail before flipping over. 6 of the 8 fire fighters have serious injuries. the crew had been battling the airport fire just before the crash. staying in southern california, landslides at rancho palace verdes have been forcing people out of their homes not to mention services are cut off but laurie perez
