11:13 pm
the newscast. a little big picture perspective on this. let's use the large map down here and color it in for temperatures, we will look at three days, there is yesterday. color coded. it gives us a nice look at things and a nice wide view including the deserts down there. we will take particular from where we were today. showing you how we transitioned. warmed up a bit. watch what happens tomorrow. we will see more heat, look at the color codes down here. tough to see. there is a view down there, all of the heat showing up from the desert southwest. that is building into california tomorrow as well. this is the peak of the heat. it is going to get better after that. sometimes, it is, it is just really pretty to visualize it that way. helpful for context to see where we are going with this. say good-bye to the large map and what we are going to look at now is home. we will come back to the local view. a couple of things i want to look at on that day for tomorrow. the main thing again, can not show it enough.
11:14 pm
the heat advisory is. inland east bay valleys, santa clara valley. if we look at the contrast in microclimates tomorrow across the bay as a whole we do the line from the coast to inland county. this is normally where we look to see how the bay is going to experience things from one extreme to the next. in the middle 70s at the beaches tomorrow. you are not in the heat advisory. you can handle that. a warm beach day. could be a nice beach day, actually. san francisco, lower 80s. berkeley, 80s in the bay. look at what happens over those hills, hundreds for concord and antioch. not far behind. if that is the line it slows us the microclimates. let's take a look. we will say good-bye to that line. i will bring in the overall spread for day time highs tomorrow. this is your monday. it will get better on tuesday. and, then, it is going to be a whole lot better by wednesday. just got to get through two days of this. when we look at the seven-day forecast you will see improvement there. what i want
11:15 pm
to do, let's come back over here and since we are spotlighting the heat risk map tomorrow we have been putting the focus on the inland communities and talking about the heat. let's bring it back out for the wide view now. the bigger perspective on this, good news farther down the road. we will visualize cool air as it gets transported through the atmosphere. and when we look at it this way you can see there a pool of cool air up in the gulf of alaska. if we play it over the next 14 days the animation shows us fall is trying to breakthrough. never going to get hit directly with any of those until we get to the end of the month and then that one will be able to breakthrough. we are looking at october 1st. this is not an exact forecast for october 1st. too far to do that. just nice to see the atmosphere shows signs looking in the big picture, down the road in the long-range we will start to
11:16 pm
import more falllike weather systems coming our way. let's get into the seven-day forecast now. the good news n terms of breaking the heat, we know the inland microclimate will deal with the 100 degree day tomorrow. you are a little better on tuesday. and then you are a lot better. we get towards the rest of next week and the temperatures really have improved almost staying at average. let's take a look at that number now for san jose. not doing 100 tomorrow. instead, middle 90s. you are better on tuesday. you are really better on wednesday. the big difare rennes here in the santa clara valley, it will happen from tuesday into wednesday. you are seeing it at average for san francisco your time of the year. you will be hitting 80 tomorrow. so, it is the warmest time of the year. second half of september into the first half of october is when you get summer. you have not had it yet you will get it tomorrow and then things will cool down for the remainder of the seven-day forecast. andrea that is where things stand, for now, back to you. >> thank you, darren. taking a live look at the
