they can before tuesday with their final pitch to undecided voters. for many people, the polls cannot close soon enough. we are out with people just trying to get their minds off the election. >> everyone i know, their nerves are shredded. >> anxious. >> i want it to be over. >> i'm doing a little retail therapy. >> good evening, i'm brian hackney. >> i'm andrea nakano. we are days away from an election that will have significant implications and national local level. 70million americans have cast their ballots with an estimated 6 million in san francisco. >> san francisco is revealing early voting numbers. more than 160,000 vote bernardino mail ballots are already in. that's a little less than half of the more than 360,000 ballots they sent out. >> those early ballots will help decide who will be the next major of the city.

incumbent london breed is trying to fight off opponents. in the east bay, oakland and the surrounding cities will have a new representative in congress for the first time in more than 25 years. jennifer tran and latifah simon are running to replace outgoing come won barbara lee. >> and sam liccardo and evan lowe are trying to win a seat in congress in the 16th district. anna eschew is not running after being in congress for 32 years sam was hopeing to get a few more votes before tuesday. possibly the most hotly contested races on the ballot. the recall races against major sheng thao and

district attorney pamela price. both accused of being too soft on crime. da lin has the details on that. >> reporter: organizers and volunteers are canvassing in different neighborhoods. recall supporters talking to merchants in china town. >> thank you. >> reporter: recall supporters held a rally saturday morning. many of them families of murder victims. caring out for justice. >> not only the grief of bearing your child, but not having justice. >> reporter: bererra's son isaiah was gunned down in fremont in 2022. authorities believe the four minors involved in the murder are also connected to three other homicides but berera says the da would not charge the suspects in her son's case. >> if you are not going to hold them accountable, how will they

fighting for key electoral votes. vice president kamala harris was in charlotte, north carolina today. a state where she trails former president trump by just a point. the rally was a star studded event where celebrities like john bon jovi and kerry washington made appearances. she says she has never shied away from her fight pointing to her record as california's district attorney. >> i won fights against the big banks who ripped off homeowners and for-profit colleges that scammed veterans and students. against predators who abused women and children. >> tomorrow harris will send the entire day in the battleground day in michigan. a state biden won in 2020 and trump won in 2016. thousands of women in dc, los angeles, and other cities across the country marched in support of the harris campaign and reproductive rights holding signs chanting we will not go

back. >> reporter: former president donald trump was campaigning in north carolina. a state that has not voted blue since 2008. but this election, forecasters say it is a toss up. trump plans to campaign in north carolina every day until election day. and he is working to close the gender gap in the campaign. >> i will protect our women. the suburbs are under attack right now. >> the candidates continue their all out sprint to the finish line until of course tuesday. in that time, harris has eight more scheduled events. while trump has ten. here in the bay area. trump supporters are feeling confident about their chances hughes and were not afraid to let people know it as part of their truckers for trump convoy. >> there's a lot of hostility to trump. but there is a lot of support too. so there's a lot

more support for trump than people realize. so some people will be surprised by the result of the election. it is no secret a lot of people are feeling stressed about tuesday after months and months of ads, and speeches. >> amanda went out to see how people are keeping their cool. >> reporter: nearly everyone i spoke to here says they are anxious about the election. and they are not the only ones. a survey by the american psychological association found nearly 70% of people are stressed out about the election. >> there is also the time change. that is hauls arredondo on people. >> anxious for sure. i want it to be over. >> anxious. anxious because we absolutely do not know what the

welcome back. first, it was san francisco. now, more than a dozen school closures could be coming to east san jose. and east san jose school district. they are struggling with a budget deficit of about $20 million. the shortfall is because they have fewer students these days. and the closures will serve students better in the long run. a list of schools up for closure. the superintendent says he will recommend closing eight of these schools while consolidating two others based on the committee's inwithout. the board will decide which are affected. open enrollment is in california. for the first time immigrants enrolled in the daca program can sign up for health insurance in the exchange. in california, about 40,000 people

coast like this. a little breezy. here is what the winds start doing. when we get to sunday. deeper shades of red show wind ins the 50 mile-per-hour range over the ocean. we have 25 to 30 miles per hour winds here. look up here. see the direction? those are offshore winds. if you look at the relative humidity, we will notice that the relative humidities will drop. wednesday is when we get a slightly stronger offshore wind event. look at where they will be by the time we get to wednesday. noticeably lower. drier air. so the real focus will be keeping an eye on the wednesday time frame to see just how significant that offshore wind
