gasoline from the vans they use to do that. four of their vehicles vandalized in the last week leaving behind up to $2,000 in damages for van. talking to the executive director who says they are not letting there stop them. >> reporter: just ahead of thanksgiving, a local nonprofit that feeds those in need is dealing with a set back. the meals on wheel thanksgiving holiday operation is stalled after several vehicles were vandalized in the nonprofits parking lot. charlie says someone drilled into the gas tanks on four out of five refrigerator vans t happened over four nights and complicated thousands of meal deliveries for seniors. >> we showed up for work three or four mornings last week to visible oil stains in our parking lot. >> reporter: they said it will cost $15 to $2,000 a truck to fix. the seniors that rely on the food are the ones that will

feel the impact >> frustration, disappointment. frustration that our vehicles we are here trying to do good work, supporting the community to help the homebound seniors that depend on us. >> they have 3,000 deliveries to make bid with. the nonprofit is reaching out to volunteers and asking them to use their personal cars to make up for the loss. it will be an uphill battle to get everyone the food on time >> can not do as much, can not do as much in the same amount of time. pay figure are more overtime, asking people to do more. it is already a stressful, really busy time of the year >> it is not the first time the nonprofit has been hit. same thing happened twice in jan and march bringing the total in damages to $16,000. the police are investigating but have not found suspects yet. in the meantime he is confident everyone who needs a meal will still get one. >> every one of the seniors on that route is getting a phone call. letting them know. we will not be there tomorrow but coming tomorrow, we are coming

the day after, we are coming, we will be there. >> there is a new crack down on encampments in santa clara county this time targets camps near rivers, creeks and waterways. we spoke to some people living near coyote creek who are now not sure where they will go. >> reporter: casara lives with her doing, showtime, in san jose. >> she keeps me on my toes, that is a good thing. >> reporter: she and several others live along the creek at this encampment. >> just so people in my family don't worry about me, they don't have to be aware of the situation. my brother has kids, they don't need to see their uncle. >> reporter: born and raised in san jose, rico has been living at roosevelt park for four years >> they ignore us until they say we are a problem. >> reporter: the problem, according to the santa clara

valley water district, is trash and debris. littering waterways like coyote creek. at a board meeting on tuesday, valley water workers also said that they are harmed on the job. including being attacked with a machete and chased away from waterways. >> this individual was in pursuit and throwing chunks of asphalt at them. one of the chunks damaged the truck. >> the district nodes to take greater responsibility for our safety. >> reporter: in the same meeting they approved an ordinance to establish water resources protection zones, spanning about 200 miles along creeks, waterways, and other areas that the agency manages. anyone living in these zones will receive outreach. then, a 72 hour notice to leave. if someone doesn't they could be charged with a misdemeanor and either a $500 fine or community service. homeless advocates say the ordinance is being irresponsibly rushed. >> plan should not go into effect for a year. people have

nowhere to go and you know that. >> the streets will be full of cardboard boxes and tents with people living in them. >> reporter: rico and everyone else that i spoke with at the encampment says they are waiting for housing opportunities. casara says she has been waiting here for a year. now she will have to find a new place to go >> heartbreaking for me. i do known where to go. when you have trash i understand it is unsanitary. not safe for anyone to be out here. i around stand that. but, we are also, where are we going to go? bay area man who is one of the fbi's most wanted terrorist suspects has been arrested in the u.k. san diego was wanted in connection to two bombings in the bay area in 2003. the fbi says has ties to animal rights extremist groups, accused of planning two

bombs in emeryville. the animal liberation brigade took credit for that is aing it was because of their contacts with the research firm that does experiments on animals. a federal arrest warrant was issued more than 21 wriers ago. he evaded the surveill expans disappeared. today he was arrested in wales. a violent outburst on united flight headed to l.a.x. was caught on camera and is going viral. video shows a man stomping on the seat behind him over and over and over again. a group of passengers were finally able to restrain him with zip ties. it turns out the man who recorded the video and got up to help restrain him is the is a ceo. >> i talked to his mother. she reached out to let me know, kind of what induced that, it was meth. >> he hopes it will small craft advisory a deeper conversation on the grim reality of substance abuse. coming up, the roof of a

. you know, it feels like we say this every year. this holiday travel season is supposed to be extra busy according to the experts. triple-a says six million people are planning fly somewhere for thanksgiving. we talk to passengers and workers at oakland international airport told and they said it was surprisingly calm. one passenger said he flew out today because he would try to beat the crowds. >> i am on this side of 50, i have been young and not knowing and running through the airport and catching my flight. that is for the birds. i know now to get here early. i got time to kill it is better than running through here trying to catch a flight or missing a flight >> sage advice from that man. oakland airport is expecting 340,000 passengers over the thanksgiving holiday. that is actually a slight dip

from last year at the same airport. it takes an incredible amount of coordination and planning to take everyone where they need to go. chris vancleeve traveled across the country just the day in the life of a flight crew. hours before we met her on her flight home to california. >> do you give any thought to, you know, all of the other places this plane goes in a day? >> not until i sat next to you. >> reporter: captain woke up southwest plate 8921 at bwi before dawn. over the next nearly 19 hours this year old 737 max 8 will take us nearly 4,000 miles from baltimore, to denver, to long beach, then on to reno, las vegas, sacramento, and back to sin city. >> the plane start in the 118 airports in which we operate

and spend a little bit of money. >> or a lot of money. >> could it be too much down-the-line? >> short term, okay. we will get through a long stretch of dry weather. we will get to it in a second. i want to start about the national forecast. a lot of people will be traveling across the country. there will be some complications. tomorrow, the trouble spot is basically where i am standing. it is colorado. the front range of the rocky mountains, they will be adding up quite a bit in denver. hub for united and southwest. those airlines might have trickle down delays because of the weather situation along the front range of the rocky mountains. then it will march across the country and cause problems down-the-line to thanksgiving day itself. you will be flying on thursday for turkey day the storm system will be kind of transitioning into a nor'easter. not without access to cold air. i don't think they will have a lot of snow. they will have a lot of rain and wind. the warm side of that system, severe weather is possible. travel hubs like

charlotte in atlanta could have severe thunderstorms slowing things down. make sure you are patient and try to exercise that patience with the flight crews especially, they are in it with everybody else. >> let's take a look at what is happening in our neck of the woods. we will be seeing that prolonged stretch of dry weather settling in as we look outside right now. lingering clouds, not much on the horizon. patchy fog later on tonight, the dry pattern, not just for thanksgiving weekend but all of the way into the first week of december. pleasant temperatures for thanksgiving. right where they are supposed to be this time of the year and near average heading through the rest of thanksgiving weekend as well. switching perspectives, looking towards the bay bridge in downtown san francisco from treasure island. the temperatures dropping down to the 40s. holding on to the lower 40s in san jose. a cool evening out there. just patchy fog expected as we head through the rest of tonight. the majority of the fog will be in the central valley. not just tonight into tomorrow morning but all of the way into the holiday weekend. we will see

more of the tule fog developing, it can still in the delta in the interior dealtace of the east bay every morning. it will be minimal factor heading through the first half of the day tomorrow. a few passing high clouds over head for the rest of the day. no big concerns there. look at where the temperatures will end up tonight. middle portion of the 30s. it sounds cold, 36 degrees in santa rosa. it is only 2 degrees below what is normal for this time of the year. a couple degrees above freezing in petaluma. temperatures in the lower to middle 40s. despite the cool start, we will warm up within a degree or two of average. lower 60s for the interior valleys of north bay. warming up 30 degrees around 60 degrees around the bay and inland in the east bay. the cool spots along the coast in the upper 50s. warmest locations, san jose, 63 degrees, only half a dozen degree difference from the coolest to the warmest spots across the bay area tomorrow. heading into the thanksgiving

holiday itself. the temperatures don't change a lot. inland forecast, hovering a mix of sunshine for black friday. a few passing clouds saturday, sunday, monday, absolutely no rain in the forecast. even the two week outlook. it keeps us pretty dry. not necessarily no rain. limited rain chances for the first 10 days of december. the temperatures around the bay, lower 60s. not a lot cooler. there is the time of the year you don't see much of a difference from coastal to inland locations with highs along the coast. above 60 degrees by monday and tuesday of next week. >> all right. paul, thank you. and gas station canopy collapsed in monterey county during last week's atmospheric river in the city of marina. it was not obvious what cause today to fall in that moment. looking at how bad the damage was you can see how easily it hurt or killed someone >> it is a shock. it is a shock for this to happen like this.
