the father of one began crying waiting for the scores. it's been a long road to rio for alex. he was an alternate in 2012 in london, then married a world champion gymnast holly vice. he had to train for the olympics while raising their newborn daughter lila. i was told he'd sleep in a separate room away from the newborn so help wouldn't wake them up when he would train in mi that was the only time he had to practice with his full schedule because he's also a realtor, and today all that practicing finally paid off. >> i could scream if they'd allow me to, but i'm just beyond excited, and very happy that everyone back home is supporting me through this whole thing, and like i said before i was going to bring back hardware for everyone, and i was able to do.

these guys came out with a police badge. no lights or nothing, just a police badge. they pulled us over pulled out their gun, told the other swimmers to get down on the ground. they got down on the ground, but i refused. i said we didn't do anything wrong so i'm not getting down on the ground, and then the guy pulled out his gun, and he put it tot my forward, and i put my hands up and said whatever. he took our money, he took my wallet. >> reporter: well , i can tell you the united states olympic committee put out a statement on the alleged incident. fortunately everybody is okay, but authorities are investigating, and all of the olympic events went on today as originally planned. guys?

we have some sad news to bring you tonight. a family has lost two toddlers after they both drowned in the backyard. >> here's the details on how it all unfolded. >> reporter: according to tempe police, the mother of the toddlers lost track of them for a few sedgeds and found them in the back -- seconds and found them in the backyard hot tub. the police responded to the home a little after 11:00 this giving the toddlers cpr after they were pulled from the above ground hot tub. they were twins, a boy and girl around 2 years old. they were taken to the hospital in critical condition, but at this time it appears to be a terrible accident. >> it appears the mom looked away for just a few seconds. at that age kids can travel a long distance in such a short amount of time and very quietly. >> reporter: police are
