it's really going to look and feel a lot like today. tomorrow but we're dialing up on the humidity so it might feel even worse. we will max at 105 there. after sunset, we'll finally drop back down into the double digits for relief. but it's going to be super humid out there. a little twist on that word, too. as far as today goes, if you're still heading out to the polls here, we're starting to see some clouds working into the picture here in our skies. so notice clouds on the increase, keepou sky, too, because there's going to be storms building around us in the mountains. temperatures already getting up into the triple dith dits, been there -- triple digits. we're going to be looking at maxing out at around 107. we've got storms bubbling up as we speak here. zooming in, where's all the moisture been anyways?. >> texas and new mexico have been borrowing it. but we're starting to get in on some of this.

forecast track, coming up. >> all right. thank you. well, police are able to catch a driver of a hit-and-run, and it's all because a tow truck driver chased the man down. brian west has the story from the newsroom. >> reporter: a tow truck driver is being called a hero after chasing down the driver of a hit-and-run accident that's happening overnight on the i-17. as soon as the vehicles came to rest, the driver fled the scene and ran into a nearby neighborhood, that's when a tow truck driver who saw the accident and t called 911. he was giving live updates to police. witnesses and the fire located the driver under some bushes. a k9 team was used. the driver about 500 yards from the accident. police used pepper spray. when the driver was not compliant, they had to drag him out of the bushes. the tow truck driver tells 12 news he almost tack willed the guy. >> i was about to do that at a point and then he started to run, so i started to dive behind him and try to keep up. if i would have jumped out when

the ground, he would have took off and been out of my view. i just followed him. >> reporter: we're told the driver refused treatment from phoenix fire department. we're in the newsroom, brian west, 12 news. >> thank you for the update. meanwhile, phoenix police are investigating a triple stabbing between family members. this happened last night just after 11:00 here near 19th avenue. police say three men all stabbed each other. their injuries are not life-threatening. well, backers of a voter initiative to legalize recreational arizona secretary of state michelle reagan about the ballot description voters will see in november. they claim the ballot scription leaves out important information such as that a new 15% marijuana tax could mainly go to schools. they also aledge the description sizz marijuana will be legal for people over 21 when it should be 21 and older. the language needs to be

gordon and grant wood says the state needs to change how its giving out licenses. they say the department of health services is giving licenses to proposed dispensaries that do not have the right zoning approved just yet. they say that's allowing dispensaries to go into areas where they would normally be prohibited such as near schools and neighborhood. they want them to make those dispensaries have everything in place before the license is granted. >> you make zero cents to me. i don't know why they're doing it >> there are going to be court challenges, there are going to be lobbyists and consultants hired to challenge. >> it is not up to them, a spokesperson says the agency takes its cue from the cities whoa can say yes or no to a dispensary going in. still ahead on 12 news at noon, ryan lochte is not done with his drama in rio just yet. what he says about a possible return to the city.

stadium. they made the announcement yesterday and they recognize how hot it gets during the games and that fans need to stay hydrated. the sun devil season opener against nau is this saturday at 7:45. and another fellow sun devil meteorologist crystal henderson, i know you've been tracking the weather for that game. >> you know it. i got all of my devils covered here with this forecast. even more reason to be pumped for the game this saturday. great weather. we're going to be sporting 90s by the time the game is with mostly clear skies. it's looking good. if you want to have fun in the meantime, today might want to find a pool near you. doesn't that water look tempting with this i -- this high of 107 and a ton of sunshine to go with it. a very high uv index is expected. got to throw in a little x factor, that is a chance for storms later on this afternoon and evening. i tweaked these numbers just a little bit, a 2 for the valley, a 3 for southeastern arizona. the white mountains still

storms underway right now. so dry air has been on deck for some time and especially took hold this morning. but now it looks like some moisture is starting to pinch off that dry air and allow for some storms to fire up. we're seeing that now on doppler radar. as we zoom in, it's stretching from show low. you can see just over 100 lightning strikes here. notice the general direction. while those won't hold they are strength to make it all the way some outflows with this and potentially more storms developing later on this afternoon and evening. you never know when that stray storm just might make it through the valley. if we miss out today, don't worry, we have more chances here in the days ahead. notice as the pattern shifts here we get into that picture-perfect pattern. it will be a very moisture-rich air mass to work with and we'll tracking those chances for storms. boy, we've been overachieving in
