become the next ninja warrior. and the couple behind the real life monster house as you have to see to believe. 12news at 10:00 starts right now. 12news at 10:00, tracking breaking news. chandler police need your help finding a missing teenager. this is maliyah harper. she is 14 years old. chandler police tell 12news that she was last seen near dobson road and warner around 5:00 this afternoon. suffers from ptsd as well as other mental disorders. so police are asking you to call them as soon as possible if you have seen her. our big story tonight on 12news at 10:00 involves a yoga instructor. a bar mitzvah party, an accusation of sex acts with teenage boys. lindsey radomski's trial is set to resume tomorrow morning. >> the 33-year-old expected to be back on the stand telling her side of the story. team 12's kevin kennedy is

center with what radomski's lawyers are saying tonight. kev what are they saying? >> he didn't want to get into specifics, but feels that his client will be vindicated. >> reporter: the case sent shock waves through scottsdale. >> the suspect radomski went into one of the bedrooms, invited seven juvenile boys back into her bedroom. >> reporter: a 32-year-old yoga instructor was arrested. the allegations include a sex act with a 15-year-old. >> and i understand the seriousness of the allegations no doubt about t after her initial appearance, lindsey radomski will be back on the stand tuesday, charged with 10 counts including indecent exposure. the 15-year-old boy's mother talking to 12news prior to the trial. >> and it is the worst feeling in the world. to know that somebody thought that they could take that away from your child. >> reporter: the prosecution says that radomski while at a bar mitzvah party also allowed the underage boys to fondle and lick her breasts. this mom who hosted the party

>> and they took them to her and knew what she meant to our family. that they were just as shocked and devastated. >> reporter: more than a dozen witnesses have been called so far including all seven of the boys. radomski maintaining her innocence, telling the court that she was drunk and drugged, the scientist testified. >> the woman is incapacitated. >> reporter: this misdemeanor trial is already in its fourth week, just long for this time, difficult for the >> and it is quite traumatic. all the children involved. >> reporter: as for radomski, her part is expected to wrap up on tuesday, this case could go to the jury by the end of the week. if convicted, radomski could spend more than six months in jail and be put on probation for three years. we are live in the alert center, i'm kevin kennedy 12news at 10:00. >> kev, thanks. right now a little girl is clinging to life after falling into a play pool near 83rd avenue in camelback.

abystander started cpr immediately on the toddler. medics rushed her to phoenix children's hospital in extremely critical condition. no word on how she is doing at this hour. investigators say it appears to be a terrible accident. also right now, phoenix fire is trying to figure out what sparked a massive fire at a scrapyard today. sending thick black smoke into the air. many of you probably saw it from different parts of the valley. the fire broke out near 27th and broadway, drawing but two different hazmat crews to deal with chemicals. 80 firefighters worked it from the ground and from ladders to get the fire under control. now to monsoon 2016 two years after the so-called storm of the century flooded out freeways and many other parts of the valley. we may be seeing round two hammering arizona on the two- year anniversary of that wild event none of us have forgotten. it's all due to a hurricane in

arizona within the next 48 to 72 hours. of course that storm is not going to directly slam us as a hurricane, however the remanence moisture is expected to move into arizona here as we head into the middle of the week. here's a look at where newton is. it is a category i hurricane with winds up to 90 miles per hour. it is moving northwest at 60 miles per hour right now. and now it is expected to make landfall as a category 2 in the southern tip there peninsula weakening to a 1 and then up into northern mexico as an area of low pressure with a lot of moisture. you can see that it is on wednesday at 5:00 as that moisture begins to make their way in. we will be anticipating quite a bit of rainfall. the question is where exactly that will happen. we'll take a look at where newton is going to -- what newton is going to bring to the valley. >> thanks, caribe. the storm could hit on the two-year anniversary on the storm of the century.

went, seeing i-10 flooded, people were stranded for hours. and so has there been any real change since then or could we be in for a repeat? here is team 12's william pitts. >> this left overhurricane is set to hit arizona on -- this leftover hurricane is expected to hit arizona. depending on how much rain drops this time the freeways could flood one more time. adot says they have 59 pumps on valleyay three minutes. but if there is more water than that, the pumps won't clear the water away fast enough when the freeways flood like they did in 2014. adot has crews on standby in case those pumps fail. there is a plan to replace them, but it's a five-year plan, so it will not help for a while. also because it is a holiday, they cannot tell us if any pumps are down for maintenance. their best advice to pay attention to the weather forecast. pay attention to if water

flooded overpass. the water is probably deeper than you think it is. in phoenix william pitts, 12news. now to the east coast where hermine now a tropical cyclone has stalled off the east coast. the storm not making landfall yet, but it is still ruining labor day plans for a lot of people at the beaches. hermine is generating powerful waves, washing ashore at least one boat. beaches are closed in several states fears of waves and everyone out of the water at the few beaches that are open. and tropical storm warning has some ferries to martha's vineyard and nantucket canceling their trips. >> we don't have a cut off point necessarily once it starts reaching up into the 40 knot area that is usually when we cancel the boats. >> people are happy that hermine hasn't made it ashore, but caribe, it is going to stick around off the coast through at least the middle of the week, right? >> that's right. so the winds and the high waves are going to be the biggest

warnings issued along the coastline. here is what we are talking about south of boston stretching along the coast there south of new york. and then just off the coast there of virginia. and so again we're going to be watching for not necessarily the the threat of heavy rainfall moving inland, but more so of the winds and also the waves. you can see here that most of the rainfall right now, it is offshore and it is going to continue to push out into the opposite direction of land here as we would head through the next couple of days. by the wait tropical storm warnings are all the way out through thursday 11:00. mark, back to you. >> all right, thanks. and here are two hot headlines that we are tracking for you tonight. up first, an investigation is underway. and after a body is found in the desert northwest of tucson. deputies tell us that the man's body was in an advanced state of decomposition, out there for quite some time apparently. investigators are trying to figure out who he is and how he died. an autopsy is set for tomorrow. number two the search resumes tomorrow morning for a

pleasant. mcso dive teams are searching for chin tum shan. he vanished near fireman's cove while swimming and floating with several other people. now to decision 2016 tonight, the presidential candidates are at a war of words over the immigration battle. republican donald trump now saying that he is not ruling anything out when it comes to the possibility of allowing a pathway to legal status for undocumented immigrants in the u.s. after his tough on immigration speech right here in phoenix where he pledged to shut the door on any possibility of citizenship or legal status for undocumented immigrants already in the country. reporters are grilling trump on it. >> we are going to make that decision into the chapter. >> okay. >> a good question. and that decision, it will be made. our first thing is to get all of the gang members and the

researchers think that early ultrasounds could actually increase the severity of autism. the scientists found that ultrasounds in the first trimester are linked to increase severity of certain symptoms like a lower i.q. and repetitive behaviors, but only for a very specific group of kids. >> we found that there was a specific group of kids that were vulnerable. and so those children that were male, those children that also had a genetic error. and they received ultrasounds were the ones that took the biggest hit in their developmental outcomes. >> when researchers talk about genetic errors, they mean genes in a brain's development. the study doesn't prove that early ultrasounds cause more severe symptoms, only that there is a correlation between the two. >> well, it is tarantula mating season, so you may be seeing more of them out and about while you're hiking.

however the males who you are more likely to see are just looking for love. experts tell 12news that they are not interested in us, but you still shouldn't disturb them. asu quarterback manny wilkins filled up the stat sheet on saturday night with 180 yards passing, rushing for 89 more on the ground, even scoring a rushing touchdown. but there is a lot more than just numbers that he is bringing to the field. >> no doubt about it, quarterback today. handing him the intangibles that he brings to the position. >> i think that for his first game that he learned a lot and i think that he did a solid job. and some of the things that i think that i was the most impress -- that i was most impressed in him was his poise. there wasn't any negativity. i like, i think i like manny's leadership is what i'm saying.

[ laughter ] >> right. well great story. all right, let's talk about what's happening. the world of weather here, it could be pretty active here as we head into the next couple of days.

of phoenix sky harbor. clear skies out there with a pretty decent temperature of 90 degrees. winds right now at 3 miles an hour. and our dew point is at 40 degrees. so that is not very moist, but all of that is about to change here. not only will we get some monsoon moisture in here, but some of the tropical storm moisture in here as well. for tonight mainly clear, 69 to 75 on those overnight lows. winds will be pretty light for the rest of tonight. tomorrow you'll wake up to sunshine. then we'll see tl of isolated storms during the afternoon. and also the possibility of some dust as storms are expected to develop down to our south and east. here is what the rest of the state looks like. threes on the monsoon meter for the white mountains in southeast arizona. those are probably going to be the most active areas. and then a two for the valley and also northern arizona. so this is what i was talking about, hurricane newton, the moisture expected to move up from the baja peninsula towards wednesday and thursday.

here is a look at some of the the models here and -- some of the models here and what this particular one is saying about the rainfall. the heaviest stuff is going to be down south of tucson. so in the red anywhere from two to four inches about one to three inches in the purple. then half an inch to an inch and a half, that is primarily east of the phoenix area as you can see that we are in on that half an inch category. but again with the tropical storms it is very iffy as to where that heavy rainfall will go. so we all need to be on aler potential flooding. all right tonight 43 in flagstaff. tomorrow 73 is your high temperature with that slight chance for storms. near 100 there along the colorado river. 94 the high in tucson tomorrow. casa grande you're at 97, and 99 over in the bend. we will up our chances there for wednesday and thursday to a 40% and 30% chance respectfully. then we get down to 93 degrees for both of those days. at least we'll have some nice temperatures. over the weekend we heat back up with a slight chance for storms in the forecast.
