year, that is more than double the 28% who read an e-book. and more than four times the 14% of those who listened to an audio book. nearly four in ten read print books exclusively. and we are following breaking news this noon of a bank robbery in avondale. >> that's right. shots were fired. the suspect took off in this car that you see right here. shots were even fired from that car as we give you a live picture right here from sky car. it is in the avondale area. we have been told -- actually it's seven street at broadway. so we're talking south phoenix. you can see that vehicle, that suv is on a chase in the residential area. so it's not on any, you know, freeways or other major thorough fares here. it looks like possibly police --
12:23 pm
but obviously they are keeping an eye on this vehicle. again this is possibly in connection with a robbery that happened at a bank. now it looks like it's going through a back aliway. we know that three people have bailed from this week. one person still in the car. obviously that's got to be the driver there. it's now come to a stop. and going back, probably because there's really nowhere to go throughout that back aly way behind those homes in that residential area. we're getting information right now that it looks like the back windows may have been shot. but again, it's very hard to see from this vantage point. don't know why the driver keeps going forward and backwards. thought maybe the driver would go back on the streets, but obviously that is not the case there. it definitely is picking up speed as it goes through that ally way. lots of debris so it makes it
12:24 pm
excuse me, that suv to go through all that trash. once again, it's going backwards. don't know why. we are still waiting on some more information on this situation here. but again, we believe that there is just one person in this vehicle. three other people got out of the vehicle. police still nowhere to be seen. it looks like the phoenix police helicopter, though,t but the driver is staying put, not going anywhere. and again, just stuck in this residential area. probably, perhaps -- oh, it looks like the driver just threw something out. too hard to tell right here if it was maybe a weapon or a bag. and oh. now there's someone from one of the homes right there trying to see what's going on there. thank goodness that person was
12:25 pm
but again the driver just taking off. again, this location near 7th street and broadway in a residential area behind a back ally way of some homes. now getting back on the streets and hopefully drivers in that area, people living in that area, stay clear away from this. because of course it can be a very dangerous situation at high speeds, and police still -- we can't tell from this picture how far away they are. but it police helicopter is keeping a close watch on this suv. >> we know many times in a situation like this, the police cars on the ground will pull away for public safety issues and instead they'll track it in the air. so it looks like we've seen the phoenix police helicopter or from another law enforcement agency in the area. you're seeing this black suv. what we are hearing is one person in it, three others have bailed out of it, this after what could have been a bank robbery in the avondale area.
12:26 pm
phoenix in the seventh street area, a little bit south of downtown. it's gotten to a stop sign here and is waiting. it looked at one point though that the back window may have been shot out. you see it on the passenger side there and then on the driver's side as well. both sides have some shattered glass there and this suv is taking off. and again, we're trying to get more information from phoenix police exactly how they're tracking it and what connection this may have to a bank robbery in avon tale. the suv is on the run. we're trying to figure out what streets. and there's an suv that was making a huchlt- -- u-turn. don't know if that was law enforcement. the suspect suv at this time -- we're trying to get an expect description of where it is and obviously phoenix police aren't even blocking traffic or anything in the area as well. it made a right near a circle k under a little bit bigger of a road. we saw it in an ally.
12:27 pm
window, then someone picked that something up or in the area and close off a gate. this was down a dirt allyway. it looks like this black suv is picking up speed once again. certainly hoping that everyone else in the area is paying a lot of attention to that. without police nearby blocking off traffic, you never know what can happen. >> this is where it gets really dicey. before when that driver was in the residential area, you know, not a lot of people around, difficulties here, but again, a live picture right here from sky 12 with this chase that is going on right now. obviously the driver picking up the speed a little bit. now he's -- he or she is on a main thoroughfare where there are a lot more cars and a lot more of a potential to be involved in a crash. so obviously it's very, very dangerous here. don't know how far away phoenix
12:28 pm
but again, in a situation like this, anything can happen and obviously it looks like this driver is definitely picking up speeds. but again, with this more cars, more traffic happening, it becomes a lot more difficult to maneuver and obviously a lot more dangerous as it turns on that road here. i want to ask the producer, do we have any indication on where this location, this driver is? okay. the last we heard it was near seventh street and broadway. but obviously we're still trying to g driver is going east or west, north or south. but definitely picking up speeds. and obviously sky 12 on a close watch of this suv. i have to imagine that phoenix police from above and on the ground obviously watching this -- this vehicle, this suv, very closely as well. >> in case you're just joining us, we are continuing to follow breaking news of a potential bank robbery suspect on the run.
12:29 pm
black suv. we don't know it's exact location. but we know earlier today there was a bank robbery in the avon tale area. and there were four people involved. we are told three of them bailed out of this suv. there is just one, the driver who is left into it. at some point, as tram just mentioned, the suv was in the area of seventh street and broadway. it went back and forth a couple of times down this dirt ally for it dropped something off. someone looked like a woman opened up a gate and then shut it. then that driver took off again getting on to some busy streets. picking up speed and creating a very dangerous situation for drivers out there. as you can see, phoenix police are not in close pursuit of this suv. one reason why may be that police oftentimes pull away from a chase when it's in a residential area or busy area on the roads and they track it from
12:30 pm
the phoenix police helicopter tracking this suv and using infrared technology to figure out exactly where this suspect could be headed this afternoon. >> and sometimes from the view above, you know it's hard to tell where this vehicle is going to be headed and sometimes phoenix police, they'll use stop sticks to try to stop this vehicle. sometimes they'll use a pit maneuver to stop the vehicle as well. in this particular case, you know it's really hard, they're going through a main -- main phoenix et the chase is on. you just have to, you know, kind of brace yourself for anything could happen, whether it's a car crash or what have you. but obviously this driver picking up a lot of speed, thank goodness there's not a whole lot of cars around this vehicle. but, you know, in a situation like this, you never know what could happen, whether there's pedestrians in the area or what have you. but again, we are following this
