may also catch fire. in new york, a 6-year-old suffered first degree burns when a samsung core allegedly caught fire. in florida tuesday night, a car gutted by fire after another galaxy phone allegedly exploded. meanwhile, a california man has filed suit claiming he suffered second and third degree burns on his leg when his s7 edge caught fire. the cpsc says it is now looking into those reports as well. on those cases but tells me it really believes the defective batteries are limited only to the note 7, which is now under recall. customers can either exchange their note 7s for a replacement phone or get a full refund. savannah? >> i remember you reporting airlines started asking customers not to turn on the note 7s, don't charge it when you're on the plane. does this change now with the official recall, do you expect the airlines to say don't bring them on at all?

use of these note 7s onboard commercial planes. no longer a voluntary thing, and the fear is that a runaway fire involving lithium ion batteries is extremely dangerous, especially in a closed airline environment. >> all right, tom costello, thank you very much. now to the frightening scene here in new york city on thursday. a man attacked an offduty police detective with a meat cleaver at the height of the evening rush hour. it happened near penn station at the height of the evening rush hour. police say officers confronted the man when they saw him trying to remove a boot from a car he apparently was living in. this video was taken moments before police confronted the 32-year-old. when they approached him, he pulled out an 11-inch meat cleaver and ran. after a brief chase, the suspect hit one detective in the face with the cleaver. three police officers opened fire wounding him. the detective who was hit with the cleaver is now listed in stable condition. also this morning, the house intelligence committee is urging president obama not to pardon former nsa contractor edward snowden.

the baby crib itself has this mesh lining. >> a lot of people don't know about this. they make these mesh liners if it rolls over to the side of the crib and you don't want to suffocate it. make sure to invest in a mesh liner and make sure your baby has that open ventilation inside the crib. >> i hear after you give birth people give you a lot of flowers. you could just throw them away or transform them into something else. >> with the floral theme for the nursery itself. you can press flowers and taking the bouquets that your family and friends give you when you have the baby and drying them out and hanging them upside down and this is a simple wooden plank. we hung the flowers, just with some twine and it's beautiful. it also has a nice floral scent for the baby. >> nice natural scent, ta. instead of the phony tagerances. >> exactly. >> amanda is on our "today" parenting team member and she

repurpose an old curio cabinet. >> this is a china cabinet. you can find it on craigslist and flee market and you might have one in your house. all we did here was repurpose it into a dresser which is really great because it has see through windows, of course. so you can always see where things are. you don't have to dig through drawers. we painted the backdrop a light, soft pink to match the theme of the nursery and give it that nice pop of color. >> i love that. >> mind if i had an open cabinet like that with a ball of >> you need to keep it organized. >> that is traditional and then we have a modern take on the nursery. >> i'll start with the wall decor. this is unusual. we used drawer knobs and turned them into the colorful pegs that you can use to hang basically anything pants and jackets and swaddles. >> how do you attach those to the wall? >> you use an anchor and change the screw and it attaches right into the knob. these costs literally dollars
