into a home. >> the pilot recovering. the homeowner returning to the ruin and investigation trying to figure out what went wrong. >> everybody get off of the street. a bomb blast in the heart of manhattan developing new details tonight. >> only on 12 news -- >> they got us from behind and drugged us. >> reporter: a woman is recovering her son's wedding. >> 12 news starts right now. 12 news at 10:00 tracking the big story. an investigation under way. after a plane crashed into a gilbert home last night. >> we have live team coverage tonight on how everybody on board the plane and inside the house survived. a witness is sharing what they saw during those scary moments.

join us with what neighbors saw. for that plane crashed into this house, the pilot who was also wearing a parachute was able to jump out of a burning plane. today he remains in the hospital with second and third degree burns. >> that thing is crashing. >> oh my fire in the sky. and you could just see that going across the sky. >> then it took a nose dive and we heard it crash, that was terrifying. >> reporter: 12 news has since learned that kilgore was flying

radioed saying the plane was having trouble. >> it was good to see someone parachute out. but at that point we didn't know about the pilot. >> reporter: kilgore parachuted out of the plane as the fire ball headed straight for this house. he remains in the hospital with second and third degree burns to his body. his family set up a go fund me account medical bills. >> truly i feel it was a miracle. you don't expect a good outcome. >> reporter: at last check, kilgore was said to be in good condition. monique griego. the national transportation safety board is using a crane to pull out the wreckage from the home near lyndsey and gilbert. trying to figure out why the plane fell from the sky.

but incredibly everyone inside is okay and one of the homeowners is actually back in the house trying to survey the damage. >> the homeowner tells me he's not ready to talk about his terrifying and sudden brush with death. but he's grateful for the support as neighbors talk about a new disaster. >> the plane went this way across our street >> reporter: a terrifying scene in gilbert. a plane slamming into a home sending massive flames into the sky. >> i was just like, oh my god. was that what we think it was and we ran out of the front door and the house was on fire. >> reporter: this is also a story about defeating all odds. the five people on board the plane surviving. the couple in the home managing to get out without a scratch.

devastation. chattered windows, wreckage, crews pulling parts of the plane from the place he used to call home. >> we're just happy no one got hurt. and there was no loss of life and even their dogs made it out. and so that was important too. the ntsb will be on scene likely tomorrow as well. the faa is also looking into this gaton. >> thank you. the sky divers on that plane were parachuting to an event in gilbert and miraclously landed. the organizer of the event said from their vantage point it didn't seem like anything was wrong. >> they had some pyrotechnics on their feet.

so we knew the jump was happening. we saw the flame and then we did see the other parachuters coming down. but, after that we didn't know what had happened. >> reporter: well stahl also saying the sky divers didn't even appear to know anything had happened. we're following breaking news regarding that bombast in new york city last night. the fbi has taken five people into custody for questioning in connection with that attack. all of this happening at same time as yet another suspicious package show us up at a train station in new jersey. our colleagues in new york tell us that it appears the package could be similar to the one that was found at a charity run in new jersey yesterday. a lot of developing details in the case. there are a lot of questions remaining in the manhattan explosion. >> investigators want to know for example if that blast is connected to another possible explosive device. it was found a few blocks away

that happened along the jersey shore. >> dan shenevan brings us the latest details. >> reporter: it was about 8:30 on a busy saturday night when the blast blocked new york's chelsea neighborhood. >> it's scary, it's unsettling. it's shocking that it happened so close to me. >> reporter: 29 people were hurt. all have been released from the hospital. authorities do not believe isis is responsible they still want to know who planted the bomb >> a bomb going off is generically a terrorist activity. that's how we're going to consider it. and that's how we will prosecute it also. less than three hours after the explosion in chelsea, another object described as a possible secondary device was found a few blocks away by officers who were combing the area. that device has been removed and authoritys are now searching for a possible connection. >> we have two separate crime

valley oregano's restaurant is now sharing her story of survival. >> the accident trapping her legs under beneath a vehicle. >> now she's sharing her amazing come back story. >> reporter: terry dagnan was a self-described type a person on the go. an avid bowler and roller skater she also never missed the chance to hit the trails. all of that when an out of control suv landed on top of her and tore into her leg. terry found the strength and inner strength to get back on her feet again. terry dagnan and her husband were headed to the oregano restaurant to celebrate her son's engagement when she says -- >> pit us and drug us into the

then it took the left leg on the lower part because i was underneath the wheel that was spinning. >> reporter: terry was in the coma for nine days before emerging with a shattered body. she says she had her doubts that she was able to be able to heal. >> i said there's no way that i'm not going to be a secretary, i'm not going to drive. i'm not going to do this or that. you sometimes don't know who you can be you. >> reporter: at first that person was terry. but then later the person who helped her find her footing was this guy. >> you can feel it when you get it. >> >> once she got past the influence of the other broke bones and things like that. she was so motivated and put herself out there to get the job done that i knew she was going to do it.

this band of brown that's that really dry air that's been over the area over the past couple of days. you can notice that starting to move up toward the north, as the tropical system gets closer and closer to the state. this will not impact arizona but all this moisture you see is going to be drawn directly into the state. so tropical storm cain sitting at winds of 70 miles per hour: tomorrow it could turn into a hurricane as it moves up toward the northwest and then it will quickly weaken as it moves in toward the coast o we're going to feel the effects. look at the monsoon meter for tomorrow night. we have a six in south western arizona. that's where we're expecting the heaviest rain. a four in northern arizona and a three in the white mountains. to break down the impact here. cloudy conditions. isolated areas of heavy rain not expecting widespread heavy rainfall. rainfall totals generally about .1 of an inch to .25 here in the valley. if you live in the northern or
